🎬✨ Last night I checked out The Dome at the H.R. MacMillan Space Centre for the Pink Floyd – Dark Side of the Moon immersive show… and wow. It’s a 42-minute full-dome experience with the entire album, 10K visuals, 360° cosmic projections, laser-style effects, and surround sound that literally moves around the room. 🌌🔊 (domevancouver.com) I’ve been to the Sphere in Vegas, and honestly… this is the closest thing Vancouver has to that level of immersion. The visuals pull you in, the sound hits different, and the whole dome feels alive. 🤯🔥 If you’re looking for unique things to do in Vancouver, this one needs to be on your list. 📍💫 ##VancouverEvents##ThingsToDoInVancouver##ImmersiveExperience##VancouverLife##vancouverbc

I have mixed feelings following the experience at the dome. I went to see Encounters in the Milky way narrated by Pedro Pascal. It's costs about $34 per person including fees. Overall it's okay and it's nice. It is said to be a 30min show, which isn't. For us, it started slightly before 6.05pm and ended a bit after 6.25pm. so it would be in between 20 and 25 minutes. The show itself feels a bit confusing and it took me and my friend some time to understand where it was going at first. I get it, the universe is incredibly big and complex, but maybe focusing on something specific or its history, with a clear storyline might have helped. And clearly, 20-25min isn't enough time and I didn't feel I learnt much not understood the purpose of the show (everyone is different and you might move it though, that's just my opinion). What I also feel disappointing is that the sound effects were sometimes so loud we wouldn't hear the voice over. That's not good to say the last as I've missed some parts of what was said. The dome doesn't also have a unified screen, it's rather 2-3 patches which do some visuals on screen is really disturbing (especially the darker scenes). Finally, the video quality isn't up to what's promised which is full HD from what I can remember) Anyway, this isn't what I expected and wasn't clearly impressed by the whole experience. On paper though, it sounds promising, so maybe that's just a matter of managing expectations...

My first time to the Dome and it was amazing! And what a great first show, the 50th anniversary of Dark Side of the Moon by Pink Floyd🤯. So incredible. I grew up with this album, I don't think there was a party I went to back then when we didn't play at least one side of it. If you are reading this you know what it sounds like, only in the Dome its actually almost cranked to 10 and on the best sound system. Visuals are next level, I won't be able to watch YouTube space ambiance videos for a while. This sets a really high bar. BTW if you don't know this (and no one walking around Kitsilano last night did) the Dome is in the Planetarium, which is in the same building as the Museum of Vancouver. Don't keep walking looking for a separate building!🙄There's no exterior signage for the laser show and hopefully this will be addressed for upcoming shows.

Had a fantastic time revisiting this iconic Vancouver venue for the Pink Floyd show. Walking in felt like stepping into a time capsule in the best way possible. For anyone who remembers the old Planetarium shows, it's a powerful wave of nostalgia—the decor, the carpets, the unique atmosphere are all exactly as you remember them.

The show itself was great. The sound system is top-notch and truly does justice to The Dark Side of the Moon. We had a lot of fun.

It's important for visitors to set their expectations: this is a classic, retro dome show, not a modern, high-tech spectacle. The charm is in its authenticity. The ticket price felt a little steep for the one-hour runtime, but it was a great evening out. It was surprisingly quiet for a Thursday night; I hope the word gets out because it's a fun experience that deserves a bigger audience.

Also, a special shout-out to the staff, who were incredibly helpful and accommodating. Excellent...
