Stadium Market — Local services in Vancouver

I started shopping here last year around March, in person. I noticed how their stock was really fresh and they had some special goods that I could not find as easily at other grocers, and it felt really good to support a local small business instead of a bigger chain. I became busier in my personal life, and started ordering groceries from them through UberEats. In one of my first few orders, they gave me an extra Italian cake and wrote me a lovely, sweet note alongside it. It was quite an expensive cake and I was thoroughly surprised by their nice gesture and how they run their business, so I continued to make it my grocery staple.

Later on in the fall, I ordered groceries from UberEats once again, and decided to cancel last minute, thinking I could receive a refund and order groceries at another time. UberEats notified me that I wouldn't be able to receive any money back, even though I cancelled only a few minutes after my order was placed. In my upset state, I contacted Stadium Market, and I was met with nothing but kindness and understanding. They did not have to reimburse me especially after I caused a fuss, but they did anyways and I was thoroughly shocked and impressed.

Cutting to a week or so ago, my apartment caught on fire and all my food perished/was covered in soot. I posted a story on my Instagram about the fire, and Stadium Market asked how they could help. Amazingly, they have helped me out with groceries, asking nothing in return, and I couldn't be more grateful during this extremely tough period. I live right by stadium market and it has improved my quality of life in my apartment by loads. The owner is probably the most genuine and kind person I've ever met; she is always looking to improve her already amazing business by hearing the voices of the community and taking into account what people need and want in a small grocery store. They frequently update the items they carry and try their best to meet everyones needs even with the limited amount of space in the store. What could have been just a regular corner store is now a small and lively grocery store with almost everything you need for your snacking or cooking purposes. The shop includes vegan and vegetarian options which is a huge bonus too. Every time I go in I feel extremely welcome, almost as if I were a part of the family there.
