The Luminous Elephant — Local services in Vancouver

I wish there were more than 5 stars to give for Luminous Elephant and owner, Maddie. I participated in the recent Art Day Retreat and was overjoyed both by the content and the atmosphere of the program. I left with two gorgeous art pieces (which, for a non-painter, felt incredible), a beautiful terrarium, a lovely bracelet, and a camera filled with fantastic photographs. I also took away a lighter heart, a clearer vision for the new year, greater confidence and skills, connection to an amazing group of individuals, and warm memories. I was positively floored by the planning and love that clearly went into the day - from the thoughtful, personal stories generously shared by Maddie to the yoga, mediation, and wonderfully healthy food and drinks we were gifted to nourish mind, body, and spirit. I am already signed up for another of their upcoming events and I am certain this charming studio will see me participating in many more in the future. We came across the Luminous Elephant by 'accident' during the teachers' strike, when they were offering day camps for school-aged kids. My 5-year old son fell in love with the place and Madelyn's style of teaching brought out the very best in him. My wife and I enjoyed our virtual portrait get together with so many old friends we haven't seen for so long. The class was structured for fun no matter your art ability and the evening was full of belly laughs, smiles, and some great portraits! Great job Maddie and all involved. What a super way to shed the Covid blues. The package sent out was full of top quality painting material and the instructor was knowledgeable and patient .
