I had the pleasure of visiting this establishment with a friend last Sunday, and I must express my sincere appreciation for the exceptional service provided by the chef, staff, and everyone involved. The experience was truly deserving of respect and admiration. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with a warm and welcoming atmosphere that left a lasting impression. The host, Sohini, exemplified the utmost professionalism and went above and beyond to ensure our satisfaction. Her exceptional service deserves recognition and reward.
As an avid enthusiast of cooking and a connoisseur of South Indian cuisine, I possess a discerning palate and an understanding of the intricate flavors that define this culinary tradition. I was pleasantly surprised by the authenticity of the dishes served at this establishment. The Biriyani and Karaikudi goat, in particular, captured the essence of their respective origins perfectly. It was evident that each curry was prepared individually, without compromise, as the Karaikudi curry exhibited its true flavors without any dilution. Similarly, the Biriyani showcased the dedicated effort of exclusively marinating the chicken to enhance its taste, unlike many other establishments that take shortcuts. This commitment to authenticity earns my utmost respect, whether it comes from the culinary team's adherence to traditional cooking methods or the chef's skill in crafting such remarkable dishes.
Moreover, I must commend Sohini once again for her exemplary qualities as a host. She not only ensured a memorable dining experience but also bid us farewell before her departure and seamlessly introduced us to Aishwarya, who seamlessly continued providing exceptional service. Witnessing a loving family coming out from the kitchen during our meal was a heartwarming sight and further confirmed the passion and care imbued in their culinary creations.
In summary, I am genuinely delighted by the presence of such outstanding individuals and the delectable food they serve. I eagerly anticipate returning to explore the entirety of the menu, as the items we ordered left us thoroughly impressed. Every detail, from the curd/raita to the overall presentation, was executed flawlessly. I implore the establishment not to compromise on the quality of recipes or service, even for the sake of profit. Your dedication to excellence deserves recognition and success, allowing more people to experience the satisfaction that I have encountered.
My deepest respect and admiration go out to the entire team for consistently delivering impeccable service and exquisite cuisine. Having resided in Canada for four years, this is only the second time I have encountered such a fulfilling experience for both my mind and my palate. Thank you for making this visit truly...
Read moreThey lost their stars for very bad service on the part of one of the waiters ( young male lad).
Seven of us went in to dine here late night on Saturday. When we got there there were 3 other tables waiting to order. Another four tables arrived after we came in. The waiters took the orders for all the other tables before ours. I didn’t mind and let it go as an innocent mistake. We ordered 3 appetizers, 2 beers, 2 mango lassi, rose milk, and 6 meals (including a Briyani). It was understandable that the food will be late. We got our appies, chicken 65 and fish pakora was great, but the squid pakora was probably a boxed store bought item that tasted fake and was oozing with oil. We ate everything because we were hungry. Then eventually we got our drinks and the food arrived 1 by 1. We didn’t get our Briyani, so when the cook came to apologize for the delay we asked him about the Briyani and he said sorry it’s coming, just finishing it up. We finished all of our meals and still the Briyani didn’t come and the waiter asked if we got everything, so we told him we never got the Briyani, and at that point we just decided we don’t want it because we had been there for almost 2 hours. My husband paid the bill without checking it, so I told the waiter you charged us for Briyani. The waiter said you didn’t check the bill before paying, and I said sorry we only looked afterwards. He took our bill and went on the phone behind the counter and he didn’t return even after 15 minutes. The cook came out again and maybe the manager. We explained that hat happened. They offered to give us a gift voucher and I said it’s too late for that, please just refund me and I will be in my way. The way we were treated by the waiter was very disturbing, he just kept running away and didn’t stop to apologize or own his mistake. He just tried to blame us for not checking before paying. Their food and atmosphere was very authentic other than the squid, but they need to train their staff to deal with their mistakes better. Sorry for the long rant but it...
Read moreWe were regulars at Famous dosa for almost an year now and we love the food. However, the service is very lousy. Servers don't bother to take your order, average waiting time is 15 minutes before they even acknowledge that you are ready to order. Male servers are completely lost in their own world, always messing up orders and not following the instructions. When you order the food, they take upto 40 minutes to prepare. We are usually okay with the delays as food tastes very good and authentic. But lately they have started taking their regulars for granted. They made us wait for more than an hour to bring half the order that too incorrect. When we informed them that our order is incorrect, the server started arguing that it is the correct item. To elaborate, I ordered paneer butter dosa which is a regular item I get every week, this time she brought paneer masala dosa, and when I told her that this is paneer masala dosa, she plainly denied to my face that 'no it is paneer butter dosa'. I told her that I have been eating paneer butter dosa for almost a year here every week but she kept on denying. Then they completely forgot that we had a second dosa as well and kept on overlooking our table. That's no way of treating a regular customer. I am never returning, and I will tell people around me about my poor experience. Food is amazing but owners really need to train...
