Forgot my lunch at home today, so I walked into the food court and picked the place with the shortest line. Ordered my meal and asked if I could pay extra to add shrimp to my order which the lady serving me said yes for $2.50 and I said yes please wrap it separately. She said no that in order for me to have it in a separate container I had to pay $ 6.00. I even asked if it could just be placed in the same bag has the spring rolls and once again they refused me and told me inorder to have it separate I would have to pay the extra $ 6.00. I was shocked and of course didn’t take the shrimp. It’s unbelievable to me, especially being someone who managers a customer service based store that, that’s how you treate your customers. No wonder they had the shortest line in the food court. Plus the fact that the food is kind of gross, don’t rush to try this place. I would highly recommend almost any other place in...
Read moreHi, yesterday my partner and I went to Thai Island at Vaughan Mills, and I feel terrible sharing this experience. My partner ordered the beef pepper dish, but while eating, he mentioned that the beef didn’t taste fresh—it had an off flavor. Since he was very hungry, he ate it anyway, especially given the $16 we spent on the meal. However, shortly afterward, he began experiencing stomach pain, and by this morning, he couldn’t stop vomiting. Even after trying liquids to settle his stomach, he’s been unable to keep anything down, which makes it clear he got food poisoning.
On top of the food quality issues, the staff wasn’t helpful—the three ladies at the counter were quite rude and dismissive. I strongly advise against eating here for both health and customer service reasons. I will be reporting this incident to the Ontario Food Safety Department. Stay safe and consider other options before dining...

AVOID Thai Island! I got food poisoning 2 weeks ago after eating here. Now I know why - York Region Public Health inspectors found serious food safety violations, including improper food storage and handling.
They've been inspected multiple times, and it's clear they need to step up their game. Made-to-order pad thai and pho soup may sound appetizing, but not when prepared with negligence.
Food Safety Issues:
Potentially hazardous foods not stored at safe temperatures Improper food handling and storage Failure to ensure proper handwashing practices
My Experience:
Got food poisoning after eating here Still dealing with the aftermath
Advice:
Avoid eating at Thai Island until they demonstrate consistent commitment to food safety Check local health inspection reports before visiting...
