Hot Topic has a lot of unique items from licensed products from anime, Disney, Netflix shows, movies and a whole lot more. This is my first time to be at Hot Topic in the Vaughan Mills location on July 2018. Hot Topic is a decent store to buy from any teenage age to adults around age 25. I usually went to the Hot Topic at the CF Toronto Eaton Centre since I visit Toronto, Ontario often, and also the one at CF Masonville Place since I live in London, Ontario. The staffs are nice there. However, there t-shirts are overprice and even with the promotions plus 13% HST tax which makes Hot Topic way too expensive to shop. I mostly buy t-shirts from anime, Disney tv shows and movies. I have spend a lot at Hot Topic, so I may no longer going to be buying more t-shirts or anything from Hot Topic because it is way too expensive as I said before and I am getting too old to be wearing t-shirts with characters as a guy in my early 20s. I have enough t-shirts from Hot Topic. I am going to start buying brand name clothes such as Nike, Adidas, Puma, Ralph Lauren or other since it fits my style more than t-shirts with an image from Hot Topic. The last time I bought from Hot Topic is the Avengers Iron-Spider Man and Hulkbuster t-shirts, yet it almost cost $50.00 for just two t-shirts that only cost less than a dollar to make. I understand that Hot Topic has to pay royalty to used the licensed products to sell on their shelves online. I did not see what I want specific from Hot Topic. In my review, Hot Topic has a lot of cool stuff, but it is very overpriced. By the way, I remember a few kids who accidentally knocked down a couple mannequins, and staffs are nice and help clean up the mess.
Pros:
Cons: 1) Items are overpriced, and even their promotions and deals are still expensive. 2) You may one day grow out of shopping at Hot Topic and be shopping for brand name clothes besides t-shirts with images of characters that cost 10 cents to make. 3) An adult may not be shopping at Hot Topic as it is mainly...
Read moreI Entered this Store for a Friend to pick up some Tanjiro Funko Pops (limit of 2), I Tried to Help People out to pick this item up due to the weather conditions and lack of time of commute for them but the Employee named James, Whom Assumed that it was my second visit to the store just because I’m a visible minority, this is unethical and disgraceful for an employee to act such a way due to the assumption of an Asian individual, I’m not his friend or colleague it was very unprofessional. Head Office should audit this location on how they treat People with Respect, dignity, and equality. I gave him a chance to rethink about his decision. It’s too late, The consequence of this act should be termination. Attached are photos of the stock left and I couldn’t purchase any items due to the enforcement of rules upon a near future purchasing customer, incompetency...
Read moreVisited a few weeks ago and was extremely disappointed. There were more employees than customers in the store, yet 4 employees were standing around talking to each other. They glanced at me but continued their conversation, completely ignoring my presence. I waited for about 2 minutes at the cash register to be acknowledged and assisted, but it felt like I was an inconvenience to them. As other reviews have pointed out, it seems like it’s more of a burden for them when customers come in to shop. As someone with over 15 years of experience in the retail industry, this is atrocious behavior. I will not be returning to...
