Roots — Local services in Vaughan

I recently visited Roots with the intention of taking photos of the store’s interior, as I was interested in documenting the design. I was allowed to take photos in various parts of the store, but when I asked to take photos in the changing room (which was locked), I was refused. I understand that certain areas might have restrictions, but it’s common for people to take photos of themselves while trying on clothes in changing rooms, so I was surprised by the response.

I even offered to buy some clothes if that would help, but the staff member reacted rudely and asked me to leave the store . The exact words being “ I had enough of this, get out”. I did not argue or behave disrespectfully at any point, so the abruptness of their response left me feeling unwelcome. I left immediately without engaging further. I am writing this review to express my disappointment following a recent visit to the Vaughan Mills location. During my time in the store, I witnessed an older female employee (she was tall, late 20’s, with long straight brown hair) displaying behavior that was extremely unprofessional. It was hard to ignore her behaviour, as she displayed an unnecessary amount of attitude while speaking to a customer, that made my overall shopping experience very uncomfortable. It was shocking to witness such immature behavior, particularly from someone who appears to be older and should ideally demonstrate a higher level of professionalism. That kind of behavior is not acceptable nor suitable for someone working in the customer service field. I’m hopeful for improvements the next time I visit this location.
