I had a booth here from May 2023 - December 2023. When moving in, and during the first couple of months, the management seemed great to deal with. In August, merchandise begin to disappear from my booth. At first, it was only a few smaller items, which I understood as that is a risk you take. By October, hundreds of dollars worth of merchandise began to disappear every week. My booth became a target for theft, and I became increasingly concerned. When speaking to management, they seemed like they would help at first, and said they would look into it, but I had to continue applying pressure just to get a simple response on whether they had located any items. It became increasingly concerning when items disappeared from a locked case which only the employees had the key to. It seemed as if they were trying to brush me off and cover it up. They ended up admitting that majority of security cameras do not work, and I have personally witnessed employees letting management know that a customer is stealing, and management ignoring it and simply letting them leave with bags full of other vendor’s merchandise. I understand that they do not have security there, but considering they have signs saying that bigger bags must be left at the front desk, they could at least enforce their own rules. They also leave the back loading dock door wide open constantly, enabling any customer to just walk right out the back with merchandise. Talking to the owners son Bailey was like talking to a brick wall. He deflected every point I made, and ignored my serious concerns, acting like I was making it up. When I told him items had disappeared out of my locked case, he simply told me that it wasn’t possible. I kept a detailed inventory of all items and was very aware of what was disappearing. In November, I let Bailey know that I would be shutting the booth down due to the massive financial loss and their lack of trying to do anything to help. After informing him of this, every time I came to visit the booth and begin to pack items up, he avoided me, and other employees let me know that Bailey was “upset with me” and “purposefully avoiding me” which is absolutely unacceptable for someone in a management position. By the time I closed my booth, I had lost thousands of dollars worth of merchandise. I hope in the future they learn how to be more respectful of their vendors, as we are the only reason they...
Read moreMy wife and I visited One Of A Kind Antiques & Collectibles during the Victoria Day Weekend 2025 for the first time. We were very impressed by all the massive 3 floors accommodating many vendor booths that offered so much variety of goods to be sold.
However, our fondest memory will be our encounter with two amazing employees who went beyond their scope of customer service by displaying simple/natural kindness - Laurie and Caroline. These two wonderful ladies work on the 2nd floor and proved to us that there still is a sense of human kindness that still walks on the face of this world today. During our visit, my wife was feeling faint when we were almost done viewing the 2nd floor. Laurie and Caroline did whatever they could from the bottom of their hearts to help her in her state of need. They offered her a seat behind their counter as well as their own personal Iced Coffee Drink and Chocolate Cookie to help her settle, rest, and calm down. We could sense the sheer goodness and willingness from them. Although they illustrated their main job duties (ie. Laurie stating that whatever we needed to see in the glass cases, just to let her know. Also, Caroline taking our basket down to the first floor in order to get us an additional basket), their genuine personalities, sincere concern, and eagerness to help has to be highly recognized in this instance. The world definitely needs more people like these two angel-like individuals! All the other employees that we encountered on the other floors were also very nice and extremely dedicated to their jobs! Our first visit to One Of A Kind Antiques & Collectibles will always be a memorable one! Laurie and Caroline made a lasting first impression and we will be ever so grateful for all they did for us! It was an honour and privilege to meet them and everyone else there! Sincere thanks and we will definitely be coming back in the future for...
Read moreMy friend and I found One of a Kind while on a glamping trip in Scotland. The three story building of antiques was a magical experience. Neither of us had ever been anywhere that large with so many special pieces. We rummaged through one of booths for quite some time and ended up leaving with several records, along with some other treasures. We loved the place so much we had to stop again on our way out of town.
Both of us have worked in the service industry in Toronto for many many years and value good customer service. We really appreciated how friendly and welcoming everyone was that worked there. The two cousins working behind the counter were so knowledgeable and helpful regarding where to find certain items and also added a lot of humour to our visit which we both enjoyed and appreciated. Lorne, one of the employees was also super helpful on the record front and had so much knowledge on the history of the building which was also super interesting to hear about.
One of a Kind is a magical, special spot for anyone with a love for antiques and treasures. I highly recommend stopping here if you're ever near...
