So I used to live in Chengdu back in the day and would get a coach from out of the city, where I lived, into the city which would stop right outside the Sheraton. As such, I'd sometimes grab a drink in the lobby while waiting to meet friends. Seemed nice so when recently returning to the city for business, I thought I'd treat myself to a room here. Unfortunately I was left disappointed;

The good things about the hotel is it's right by Luomashi metro station so very easy to get to from Tianfi airport and you're dead in the middle of the city near Tianfu Square so a very convenient spot. The rooms are fairly nice and I did get a good view of the city. Unfortunately, there were problems -

The price is quite high for China and on a previous trip I stayed at Citadines in the south of the city and got a HUGE hotel apartment for less price than my double bed in Sheraton. It was less central though, but considering the super cheap cabs in China, there's not much harm spending an extra twenty minutes in a cab to wherever you're going and as the South of the city is thriving, you're likely better off staying there.

My biggest issue was they were doing construction in the hotel from 9-5pm. Now I get that maintaince needs to be done, however at 9 on the dot I was woken by a loud drilling sound. Having just flown in from the West, I was jet lagged and really needed a lie in and for me 9am is a bit of a p*ss take. 12 pm fine, but 9 am is just too early for loud maintenance.

When I complained (not easy as most staff don't speak English at all and my Chinese is so so), admittedly they offered me a free lunch/high tea. However, when I took up their offer of high tea, it was to put it frank, rubbish. All that was on offer was a sad little fridge with some melon, watermelon and a few cakes sitting in there. For what is supposed to be a quality hotel and the low cost of things in China, I thought it was quite pathetic. Furthermore, when I asked if there was anything else I could eat (like some leftovers from lunch or a little bowl of noodles) I was told I needed to wait a few hours for dinner. To me this is just lazy and low quality and they didn't seem that bothered I was dissatisfied.

I took the 'high tea' and left quite disappointed with the whole experience at the Sheraton. When speaking with a Chinese friend I was told all these 'established hotel chains' take their guests for granted and that was so evident here.

Bar the very good location, I'd say do not go here as there will be much better value and service on offer elsewhere. Even without the construction noises I'd still say I felt very underwhelmed by the...

3-generation family of 7 pax (1681yo) stayed in 3 rooms on the 15th floor from 48 December 2024. Check-in was a efficient and smooth when we arrived in the evening. Elevators were fast. Rooms were spacious, laid out very practically, in new & pristine conditions and very clean. Everything was in working order. Beds were comfy. Plenty of wall points provided in the room, all were placed very thoughtfully. Water bottles were replaced diligently every day. Bathroom was a good size, shower space was large and water pressure was good. ||The property was in a convenient location, away from congestion but accessible by Didi. There is a Luckin Coffee in the lobby itself. Breakfast spread was good both in terms of variety as well as quality. The staff did a good job in keeping the food stocked as well as clearing used plates. Despite the busy breakfast period, it was adequately staffed and run very well.||During our stay, the hotel was kind enough to afford us the continuous use of a wheelchair for my elderly mother. The staff were very helpful during our stay. I picked up a cough during transit after a marathon prior week of travel (Chengdu was my 4th city on the tail end of this hectic period) whilst my wife pulled a muscle in her lower back during the trip. In both situations, the staff helped us procure over-the-counter medication and have it delivered via Meituan. Aron Deng, the concierge, arranged the former whilst for the latter, Ice was the staff who took my wife's call and helped us out. ||We had self-planned our itinerary for the trip ahead of our arrival. Of course, rarely do even the best laid plans survive first contact. And so, we consulted Aron Deng the concierge, extensively and he very efficiently helped with restaurant reservations, patiently entertained our enquiries, provided clarifications and offered helpful suggestions on alternatives where certain planned activities/visits were unavailable. The sum of all this was a holiday that was enjoyed by all the members of our party.||The only complaint, which - to be fair - was not within the hotels control, is that at the time of our stay, there may have been some construction going on (or it might have been the container yard) and so there was some noise late into the night. Nevertheless, after each full day of activity we fell into deep, restful slumber...

The location of this hotel is super convenient for getting to all the tourist spots, but unfortunately, I wouldn’t recommend it for Platinum+ members, and I don’t plan to stay here again. As a Titanium Elite member, I’ve come to expect a certain level of service, but this stay really missed the mark. To start, there was no welcome message before check-in, no real upgrade offered, and little recognition of my status. I had a simple request for a suite with a washer, but instead, I was given a suite facing a noisy main street and a construction site. The “Executive Suite” I was given was the same size as the Superior Suite I originally booked, so it didn’t feel like an upgrade at all. The room layout felt cramped, especially in the bathroom where the toilet area barely had any legroom. I did get access to the club lounge as part of my benefits, but the happy hours and afternoon teas weren’t anything special, even though the lounge staff were friendly and welcoming. On the plus side, breakfast was actually quite good, with lots of options for Chinese and Sichuan dishes, which added a nice local flavor. Housekeeping was also fantastic—they kept the room spotless and well-stocked every day, which I really appreciated. Overall, though, the service and comfort didn’t match what I’ve experienced at other properties as a loyal elite member, so I left feeling disappointed.
