啟德零售館1 Kai Tak Mall 1 — Local services in Hong Kong

I came here to look around the neighborhood before the check-in time for the hotel. It was kinda sorta hard to find this mall with google maps... I had to walk for like 20 minutes, up and down a highway, around an arena to find an entrance to this mall. This mall is apparently a series of mall and I found mall 2 before I found mall 1 (you just had to travel through a small bridge that connected the two, not so hard to find). Mall 1 had a food court with an assortment of cuisines and I chose this Hong Kong cuisine and ordered a pork cutlet with cheese-y noodles. There's also a really yummy Singaporean dessert place called Jollibean. It has like grass jelly and like soy-based drinks and desserts. The atmosphere at the mall is quite nice. Along with the recent opening of the Kai Tak Sports Park and Arena is the new Kai Tak Mall which includes 3 phases.

Kai Tak Mall 1 & 2 are the largest and most comprehensive with over 200 different brand name shops, mostly centred around sports equipment, shoes and related items.

There is also a bowling alley, sky deck (not yet open), indoor Epicland playground for the kiddos and a fair number of eateries, coffee shops and usual other mall features. The Malls make a nice addition to the Sports Park theme and...

Disappointing HK shopping mall. Just larger than most of the HK mall but no design and seems like no standard on the construction. I almost thought it is an old shopping mall without proper maintenance 😔. I cannot believe HK government used so much money to build this. What a shame. The nearby Airside mall is so much better.
