I went twice only for convenience. On both occasions , time was taken from me. First time, I am there early. I had to wait 10 into my hour before they let me into the room (a couples massage were paying. I undressed in a minute. I waited 2 more minutes before the masseuse arrive. She stopped exactly on the hour so I lost 13 minutes from an hour massage. Even ripoff spas that think 50 minutes is an hour do not take another 3 minutes. I complained and got a $5 reduction. The 2nd time, they put me in the room on time but masseuse did not come in for 5 minutes. She eventually left 3 minutes early. I dressed, went to the front to confirm that I was there before my hour was up. Total of 8 minutes off. Both massages were very good except for the timing, so simply be vigilant on the time. I subsequently heard from the owner and met with her. She explained that they book the massages on the hour so often you are limited to a total of 60 minutes. I have such mixed feelings about our experience at this spa. My partner and I went here for massages on our second to last day in Costa Rica. I had the Bamboo massage which was amazing. My therapist really got in there and when I asked for firm pressure, she gave it to me! It was literally 85 minutes of heaven and just what I needed after several days of hiking. My partner, his experience was not as stellar. After we walked out, he mentioned that his therapist was TEXTING during the foot part of his massage. She would utilize one hand to give him a lackluster massage and he could hear her clicking with one hand on her phone. I was absolutely aghast and told him that we should have gone back to speak to the front desk but he did not want to address it or make a scene. He literally talked me out of going back. Should have Confirmed when we arrived I guess? My wife and I called ahead to get a 1hr each couples massage and asked if 60us would cover it since couples usually get a better deal. They agreed and we booked for 1.5hr later. We showed up on time got out 1 hr wonderful massages and after we had already tipped for our massages in the rooms we find out they wanna charge us full price 70us because we were in different rooms. We argued a little but finally paid because they looked busy. Only to over hear the couple behind us were about to go into separate rooms too.... Poor business practice.
