El Ríncon de Domi — Restaurant in Bahía Ballena

Ah, the classic Costa Rican experience: surrounded by the warmth and friendliness of Ticos, only to encounter that one waiter (host? Domi himself?) who seems to have missed the memo on hospitality. There I was, the only customer in the eatery, and instead of a warm greeting, I got a front-row seat to his intense focus on the soccer match playing on TV. It felt like my presence was more of an inconvenience than anything else, basically I was treated as an intruder. I actually only eat here once and it was really good and people around really seemed to enjoy their food. But more than that they have cabinas on the top of the restaurant and I lived there for about one month and I really enjoyed it. Good price for a room with private bathroom, fridge and a sink so I could prepare breakfast. You can choose to have a fan or AC. I managed with only the fan but it did get warm sometimes. This place really is a hidden gem in Dominical on the main road with very tasty home-cooked and authentic tico-food as well as a nice fruit stand and smoothies during the day! The service was really friendly, the food arrived quickly and was fresh and super-delicious - we had a burrito de pollo with the best Pico de gallo ever, fajitas de pollo and patacones con frijoles - all freshly made.
