Unpleasant Experience at Phat
Our recent visit to Phat Noodle in Dominical left much to be desired. While the food was passable, the evening was overshadowed by the unpleasant demeanor of our waitress. It was evident that she was dealing with some serious internal issues, or hated her job, or both, as her attitude throughout the evening was nothing short of dyspeptic.
The menu at Phat offered a decent selection of Thai dishes, and the flavors were adequate. However, the overall experience was marred by the surly waitress who served our table. From the moment we sat down, it was clear that she was not interested in providing a positive dining experience.
The waitress exhibited a palpable sense of irritability, as if our presence was an inconvenience to her. Her responses to our questions about the menu were curt and dismissive, making us feel unwelcome. It's unfortunate when the ambiance of a restaurant is tainted by the attitude of its staff. This waitress is a liability. To avoid being served by this particular waitress and potentially ruining your dining experience, I recommend the following tips:
Observe from a Distance: Take a moment to observe the staff before choosing a table. If you notice a waitress exhibiting signs of irritability or impatience, it might be wise to select another area to dine.
Timing Matters: Consider dining during off-peak hours when the restaurant is less busy. This way, you may increase your chances of being served by a different, more accommodating staff member.
Ask for Recommendations: When making a reservation or upon arrival, politely ask the host or manager for recommendations on friendly and attentive waitstaff. They may be able to guide you to a more positive dining experience.
While Phat Noodle has the potential to be a pleasant dining spot in Dominical, the unfortunate experience with our dyspeptic waitress cast a shadow over what could have been an enjoyable evening. Here's hoping that future patrons have a more favorable encounter with the...
Read moreYikes.. This place has a lot of potential but the food was pretty disappointing (especially considering the price..!)
Our cocktails and appetizer, were good. The restaurant itself and the bathroom, super clean! However, 4/4 entrees were unexpectedly terrible.
The Ban Mi was soggy and mushy, so it was sent back. Both Pad Thais arrived bland and watery, so we decided to pay the extra $5 (ouch) for sides of peanut sauce.... we sent those back too because they didn't taste, smell, or look like anything close to peanut sauce (It looked like baby food - which would have been a better meal at this point) It wasn't worth waiting for new meals given how long everything had taken.. we just wanted to go home.
Not sure if we picked the wrong night, but we all left hungry and extremely disappointed. The Pad Thai had the best reviews onlinr so we were super excited - but that was the worst Pad Thai we've ever had. We've been eating a lot of beans and rice so something like a Pad Thai and a simple peanut sauce should have been an easy win for our pallette's.
If you're going to charge that price for food, you need to be able to deliver the appropriate quality and presentation...
Read moreGod awful! Maybe 15 minutes after eating here I already felt my stomach trying to jump out of my body. I ordered the Chicken Pad Thai … it was basically boiled chicken that somebody threw in a plate with over cooked 25 cent noodles and a bunch of roughly chopped somewhat cooked veggies… I ordered level 2 spice and it was basically inedible… my partner ordered the teriyaki rib tips which were not tips at all and if by teriyaki you mean soy sauce then yes they were teriyaki. In my opinion the chef at this place has never even googled the recipes of an Asian dish let alone been to Asia to learn how to represent and cook their meals. So if you want to spend the whole night in the toilet regretting all your lazy decisions then this is your place. To the owner: whatever you need to tell yourself; your food still sucks. And by replying to me as if I was just making it up, shows more that you care about the review than about the taste...
