Bar Jolly Roger — Restaurant in Bahía Ballena

Sadly, the new Jolly Roger has lost it's charm and personality with the location change. I really talked this place up with my group before the visit. I had only experienced the old Jolly Roger up in the hills. The old BJR was vibrant, welcoming, and had a great view.

We went last Sunday afternoon at 1pm and it was lifeless. The new location is in the center of Playa Dominical. Our server acted like she was annoyed we were there. We were the only people in the restaurant.

However, the wings and burgers are STILL GREAT!

Tab for 6 people was on the more expensive side, $135 total ($22.50/person). We had 4 orders of wings, a burger, fries, a chips and salsa appetizer, 3 Pilsen beers, a sprite, and 4 bottled waters. Waitress said tip wasn't included but also did not provide an...

Would have been 5 Stars if they were not shady about pricing. Service was fast, beer was cold, view was awesome, great food all around and vibe was cool till the bill came. They are not clear on pricing at all, very sad because this place is a Gem. Two different pizzas, almost the same number toppings one was $16 and the other was $45. Bottle beer $3, Draft Craft $12. They don't take cards and when you want to pay with Venmo they will not give you WIFI password to send money, Thankfully our bill was only $120 and we had the cash to cover on us. I never miss this spot when I'm on vacation in the Southern Zone of CR. Believe it or not the wings are better than any wings in the states. FU Hooters. My husband and I actually ate there twice in one day on our last trip. The first time to get rid of our hangover and the second time to get hungover.
