Title: Wonderful Pizza and Beach Ambience, but Unpleasant Experience with Unwanted Massage
Review: I recently visited this restaurant during my vacation and had a mixed experience. Let me start with the positives. The pizza served here was truly excellent, and I thoroughly enjoyed every bite. The ambiance, right by the beach with a breathtaking view, was simply beautiful. To top it off, we even had the pleasure of spotting sloths and monkeys hanging from the trees directly above us. It was quite a remarkable sight.
The service provided by the staff was top-notch as well. They were incredibly friendly and went out of their way to point out the presence of the wildlife above us, which added to the overall charm of the place. Their attentiveness to detail was commendable. At the negative it took the kitchen almost an hour to make the pizza.
However, I regret to say that there was an unfortunate incident that marred our dining experience. While we were patiently waiting for our food, two massage therapists approached our table and started to provide unsolicited massages. Despite our attempts to decline their services, they persisted and managed to convince us to accept their offer. This made us feel uncomfortable and violated. Moreover, we ended up paying a significant amount for just a few minutes of massage, which left us feeling disappointed and overcharged.
It is disappointing that the restaurant did not take measures to prevent such incidents and protect their guests from unwanted encounters. While the overall experience was pleasant, this particular incident overshadowed the positive aspects. I would have expected better awareness and control from the restaurant's management to ensure that their guests are not subjected to such uncomfortable situations.
I hope that this feedback is taken constructively, as it aims to highlight an issue that needs attention. With improvements in this area, the restaurant has the potential to provide an even better dining experience for...
Read moreWe came here on two occasions while in Puerto Viejo de Talamanca. The first was we were just walking by and decided to try it. It was raining but we sat out back near the beach under a private palapa. My kids thought it was super fun and for us, it really was a nice experience. The food was incredible. The pasta is all made in house and the Lobster Ravioli was unbelievably good, especially considering how inexpensive it is. The service was impeccable, like most of the town, everyone is just so nice and welcoming. It was a great experience. So much so that we decided to go pick up a pizza the night before we left town. I was sitting at the bar waiting for my pizza when the Bartender handed me a Papaya Margarita, all "on the house" while I waited. The drink was incredible. I asked for two of these to-go. Next thing I knew, he was jumping on a bike and left the bar, in the rain! I asked the server what was going on and he told me that the bartender, Ronnie, had left to go the supermercado to get me some plastic to-go cups. I couldn't believe that level of kindness and customer service. I will definitely be coming back here when I visit...
Read moreThe restaurant looked nice and it has tables on the beach. It was quite empty in the restaurant and it took a long long time for anyone to ask us what we wanted to drink or eat. No water was offered or brought to our table. The food and drink is horribly over-priced especially since the quality is not balanced with the price. The pasta is supposedly homemade but the pene i had with the vegetable curry was hard packet pasta. The vegetable curry itself was bland, far from being worth $33 Australian dollars (including service fee; for non existent service). The pizza was $40 Australian dollars and although better than frozen pizza it was a big let down versus the price. We also ordered bruschetta ($22) which never turned up (thankfully) and we had to have it removed from the bill. Upon paying the cashier asked if everything was good, but she didn't follow up on my glum face and "it was ok" response. I guess i should have been more direct! In summary, you could probably go anywhere else in the 10km radius of the puerto viejo and beaches area and get better food and much better value for...
