My girlfriend and I did the Monkey Mangrove Tour and the Tortuga Island Excursion through these guys and both were amazing!
To start out we had had a little confusion about where to meet for the Monkey Mangrove Tour and we ended up missing our 9 am time but we were able to email them and tell them what had happened and they immediately bumped us to the 11 am tour and they were also super helpful and understanding! The tour is well worth it! You get to cruise down the river and see not just monkeys but a variety of different species that live along the river. The mangroves were awesome too and really interesting ecosystem to see up close and personal!
The Tortuga Island Excursion is a must do if you are in Costa Rica! They pick you up right from your hotel or other accommodation if you are staying in the Jaco area and they bring you down to the docks. There you climb aboard a large comfortable catamaran with an amazing crew that will serve you light refreshments and snacks on the way out to the island. Once on the island they have their own section of beach with chairs for everyone and private bathrooms for the tour group! Once they offloaded all the food and drinks the crew went around and provided each guest with a rum punch or margarita (you decide, both are amazing and included with the tour package). From there you get to decide how you want to spend your day! There are three different experiences included with the excursion package, snorkeling, banana boat ride, and hiking! You can do all of them, some of them, or none at all and just enjoy the beach and the the warm water of the Pacific Ocean. My girlfriend and I chose to go snorkeling and it was amazing! You can bring your own gear if you want to but they will also provide you with all the essential gear (mask, snorkel, and fins). When you're in the water there are plenty of guides pointing out different reef creatures!
Once back on the island more drinks were served and then lunch was prepared by the crew for everyone! It was delicious and there was plenty of food and drinks for everyone! After lunch we went on the banana boat ride, we elected to the the calm version which is just a nice cruise around the cove! After that we could have gone hiking but we decided to enjoy the beach before packing up and heading back!
The crew was amazing! They are very helpful and even rinse off your feet and shoes for you! I would highly recommend this excursion to anyone staying in Costa Rica, it is well worth it and...
Read moreWOW….. What an experience, this tour is a must if you are in Jaco, my wife and I had an amazing time. The tour guides Wilson and Joaquin are amazing, very knowledgeable about the terrain and the history of animals plants and their country. They made sure everyone was safe and were very patient and attentive with everyone. We did the waterfall hike, I recommend that you bring shoes ( sandals not recommended) that you can walk in and through water with that you don’t mind getting wet because the terrain is very rocky and slippery. Gracias caballeros por todo, and thank you for helping me conquer my fear of heights !!!!
UPDATE I lost my Apple Watch while on the tour and notified them a day later, they asked me to send screen shots of the GPS location to see if they could locate it, they replied a few hours later saying that it looked like the location of the watch was in the middle of the jungle and that there was nothing they could do and that they searched their vehicles and found nothing …..well they contacted me 2 days later saying they had found it in the water during an excursion and were returning it, it was returned by Christian the tour guide who found it ! I am grateful to Christian and the whole team…… this company is top notch class and clearly went above and beyond in customer service ……...
Read moreJoaquin, our guide from Costa Rica Waterfall Tours, was outstanding. His knowledge of the local wildlife and flora was impressive, as he enthusiastically pointed out numerous animals, rocks, and plants that we hadn't anticipated encountering. His personable nature made the tour not just informative but genuinely enjoyable.
The tour itself was a highlight of our trip. The waterfalls were breathtaking, and the paths were very manageable, making it suitable for most adventurers. One of the unique features was the chance to jump into a deep pool from different heights; I opted for the lowest of the three options, while my wife preferred to wade in. A tip for future visitors: be cautious with your belongings! I unfortunately lost an Apple Watch in one of the earlier falls.
The morning started with a wonderful mountain breakfast where the cooks prepared the meal in the same room, adding a warm, communal feel to the experience.
This excursion with Costa Rica Waterfall Tours, while one of the more budget-friendly options we explored, turned out to be one of the most memorable activities in Costa Rica. I highly recommend it and would definitely return if I visit again. Don't forget to ask Joaquin about his pet dog and squirrel; it's a delightful story that adds to his...
