I have been to this hotel 7 times since December 2022. With that said, it's obvious, I like the place, The front desk staff, housekeepers, and the mainenance, have always been very nice and accomodating. Front Desk Francine, and the other girl at front desk (... I can't remember her name), have always been extremely nice and pleasant. Karol in accounting, is very nice, as well. Most of the female bartenders are nice and pleasant, some aren't, but I have no complaints, I understand. But the one area, I have a complaint, is the restaurant service. And it's disappointing because, the food is great... Most of the waiters, are very unfriendly, and their service in very unprofessional. You literally have to wave one of them down to get a refill of coffee or water. This last trip, (June 14-18, 2023). I went to have breakfast about 7am. And a young man Kobe Huma, took my order (eggs, bacon, and potatoes). Then I was given a cup of coffee and orange juice. When my plate arrived, I realized I needed a piece of toast, with my breakfast, I don't pushing my food on the fork with with fingers, so I prefer a piece of toast, biscuit, or tortilla. Let me add that there was only me, and one other table (w/2 guys), in the restaurant having breakfast at the time. So I keep looking to get the waiters attention, and all the waiters were by the kitchen/bar area, talking, joking around, and laughing. Meanwhile, my breakfast is getting cold, and I'm getting aggravated... So, finally, I ask (across the dining room; I was sitting by beachside) Obad to please bring me a piece of toast, and he nodded yes. I waited and waited, and decided to just eat my breakfast without the toast. When waiter Obad finally came to my table, I asked him why he did not bring my toast, and he said do you want it now, sarcastically... and smiling. I said no I finished my meal before it got cold. So, I asked him again, why did you not bring my toast when I asked. And he just looked me with a unfriendly expression on his face. So, I asked him again, why did you not bring me my toast. Finally, he responded, I forgot... So, I responded, how would feel if I forget to pay. He said do whatever you want "little boy" and walked away (I'm 60 years old, by way...). Then another waiter Jason walks up and tries to hand me the receipt, and I asked him if he deducted toast from receipt. He made ugly face and said I was going to pay, and then he accused me of not paying the last time I was there, which I did pay, and I sent Karol all my reciepts/charges showing I did pay. That Jason gave the girl I was with a hard time saying that I did not pay for her breakfast, and that she needs to pay him. That girl messaged me when I got home telling me this guy was giving a hard time about the breakfast that wasnt paid. So, I messaged her and said to pay him, so he wont give her a hard time or harass her. The charges he was claiming was for $17.22. So I sent the girl (through zelle) $50 to pay him, even though Karol took care of it in accounting, once I sent her all of my receipts. These 2 waiters, both, were very aggressive, and I felt threatened, not to mention offended, embarrased, and finally uncomforable. So, to avoid those feelings, I ate at other restaurants, near the hotel, the last 2 days I was there. Hopefully, the waiters will improve in the future, because, I really enjoy coming there. And I also want to say, that I've never met the owner, but he does a great job overal on that property, It's very clean and...
Read moreI called Friday to inquire on the cost of a room for Saturday. I didn't reserve then as the price was more or less the same as better nearby accommodations, but I was keen on checking out the area, seeing the bar and restaurant, and local talent.||||I specifically asked if I could check out the facilities before reserving a room, told yes, sure sir blah blah. Well, after having a beer at the casino bar, and witnessing droves of working girls and other patrons being allowed to pass through to the bar and restaurant area, the security stopped me and immediately asked "Where do you think you're going?", so I already knew where the conversation was headed. Showed my ID, which he analyzed and then asked to check again as if it were possibly fraudulent (lol?), before denying me entrance saying the area is private. Didn't even say I needed a room, just pointed me back to the casino area.||||So, perhaps doing what he wanted all along, I ended up booking a room so I could have the honor of passing through to the bar area, did manage a 10% discount for the hassle and confusion, but pretty sure I got gringo'ed. Would only go again if splitting cost of a room with friends. Makes zero sense to prevent someone from consuming in the restaurant or perhaps see an attraction that prompts them to want to buy a conveniently located room.||||The room itself was smallish and about the same size as other similar establishments. Would not feel too comfortable staying overnight with many valuables, and definitely watch your drink at all times at a place like that, but otherwise, enjoyed the pizza in the poker room and the casino area was cool. The bar itself was crawling with beautiful women, but my experience was a bit soured as I had some friends who couldn't pass through with me, despite us spending on...

During the day it's a great restaurant the beach is also great even great for the family.
By 8pm at the least, people with kids it's time to run - this place turns into the biggest working girl bar in the world.
It is fun to have a beer there and watch all the overweight Americans rich sport fishermen get taken for hundreds of dollars if not thousands.
The bartenders/waitress are friendly to a point they are NOT working girls and you see there frustration at times when the guys try to pick them up as they won't leave with anyone no matter how much money you show them. I have never been ripped off by a bartender/waitress in fact one brought me back more change since she hadn't given me the right amount back without me asking for it - I let her keep it and she gave me a free beer...you are nice to them they will be nice to you...
Outside the hotel are the more seedy working girls and drug however it is pretty safe and the police is never very far...
I don't do drugs and I don't pay for sex however I do go there for the entertainment it's worth the 2 to 3 beers and you have to go there on a Friday or Saturday night - Super Bowl weekend is the best time to go there...
As for the Casino, I wouldn't trust it even with some one else's money!
Jaco is a great town it has a little bit...
