Los Mahi Tacos De Cholo — Restaurant in Jacó

I spent a month in Jacó. That being said, I got to try a lot of amazing food spots. Los Mahi was my favorite place to eat by far and I found myself visiting the restaurant multiple times each week. The restaurant owners are friendly and they treat everyone like family. The restaurant has an indescribable vibe with greenery in the backdrop, views of life a little further out from the more touristy areas of town, and chickens that would occasionally step up to say hello to depending on what time that I stopped in to eat.

The food? Crazy outstanding with custom sauces, fresh ingredients, and color that spills across each plate from meat to vegetables. Definitely visit Los Mahi Tacos De Cholo if you're in Jacó. Incredible food! I got the grilled Mahi Mahi, guacamole and plantain chips and the coco y pina smoothie. I added the spicy sauce and was very impressed. The flavors of each of the toppings complimented each other perfectly. The service was out of this world! I asked if there was much added sugar in the smoothies and the guy working brought mine and said “ no sugar” he was so thoughtful about each of my friends and I’s orders. The smoothie was so yummy and refreshing!! Couldn’t decide if I wanted ice cream later that night or another smoothie. The chips and guacamole were good- although I will say they lacked a little bit of flavor. We added lime to our guacamole and salt to the chips and it was delicious! 10/10 for the service though. There was 12 of us In our group and they nailed each of our orders and quickly too. Would recommend to anyone looking for good tacos...

I wish I could have left a better review since I was really looking forward to this restaurant after reading all the great things people had said. Unfortunately I had a really disappointing experience. We were the only table at the restaurant but our food took 50 mins to arrive. When it did arrive most of the dishes were cold, were wrong/mixed up, or both. One person in my party had the wrong thing brought to her 2x. The fish taco was good when it finally did come but it was barely lukewarm. I can’t tell how the chicken taco was because it never came. When we asked about the missing food the front of house server started arguing with the back of house kitchen (open so we could see the argument). Not sure where the miss was but super disappointing that a restaurant with a lot of potential (good flavors) was let down by...
