A good dive shop but some things were lacking, for example an explanation of the difference between a half day and a full day. On my first day which was a day fully dedicated to checking equipment, I was asked if I wanted to do the full day the next day. I asked; what is the difference? They explained- full day is same as half day but they leave earlier to do a longer surface interval. I thought this is weird, but okay who cares, I donât mind a short surface interval and actually prefer it on cold weather days.
I returned the second day and ended up on a boat that is only doing equipment check dives. Everyone else went an hour further to dive with dolphins, something I would have KILLED to do.
This is not âthe sameâ and Iâm annoyed it was explained to me as such when I only had 2 days to dive and Iâm stuck wasting time on an hour dive for 20 mins for the newcomers to do the same weight and equipment checks, mask removal, reg retrieval.
Iâm really upset actually as Iâm not planning on returning to Egypt anytime soon and I feel like the limited time I had was wasted.
They do look after you and are likely 100x safer than Egyptian run dive centers but if you only end up doing 10m dives what is the point of coming all the way here? I flew 20+ hours.
I was also the only woman on the boat yesterday and when I couldnât inflate my bcd during predive check, I asked if my tank was open. No one would answer me (bottle was already on my back so I couldnât check myself) and just told me to âCalm downâ and âdonât worry.â Well before jumping in the water I said again, I cannot inflate my bcd, is the tank open??? Finally: it was open but the octopus had to be changed out because it was faulty and wouldnât inflate my bcd. Imagine if they had listened to me instead of telling me to calm down? I doubt very much a man would have been told to âcalm downââwhen you are literally just trying to check your equipment as you are supposed to do. Iâm an advanced diver and have 100+ dives- not the most experienced but not a beginner either
Imagine everyone else is in the water and you have to change your octopus on the platform because no one bothered to help you beforehand and just told you...
Read morewe chose this dive center due to the great reviews. Unfortunately, our experience was not as pleasant. The check in procedure was normal, while the equipment selection was average. A dive guide had to tell the colleague to check the suit sizes properly as this person was handing out 1 to 2 sizes too large, which is in 22 degree cold water not a great idea. Then the next morning, we came at the communicated time. Somebody told us to hop on the boat, but when checking our bags with the equipment hasnât been brought. Small issues so far. Then we started on the boat. The first question was wether we would dive the next day again, without even have started with anything. Next question: who wants to have lunch. No explanation on when we would be back or anything. Another surprise was that there was no water for free on board. One tea, for an 8h long trip⊠having dove all around the world, I really have to say that this was unexpected. Then coming to the diving: the briefing on the reef was done properly, but the communication of body teams not really. Also signals havenât been checked another time. The dive itself was smooth. Also the instructor was nice, knowledgeable and fun. As we were freezing we decided to skip the second dive and just hung out on the boat for the rest of the afternoon. As itâs low season, also relatives and friends of the employees could join the tour. First, we would have appreciated to know. Second, it would be great to pay attention to all customers in terms of volume of the music and seating spaces. All in all, we didnât really feel too welcome. Last, but not least the check out procedure. We came at the beginning of the office hours (3pm) to clear our check. We were told to get the equipment checked and then we can do the bill. Once we had the right person for that, they were telling us that the jetty is locked and we have to wait until the colleagues return from their break⊠of course, being send from one person to another one plus the waiting didnât improve the experience. All in all, with the cost of a dive the basics should be covered. This time, this...
