Mafia Pizzeria & Cafe — Restaurant in Red Sea

What a disappointment! Wasn’t sure if I should give 2 or 3 stars but decided to be nice.

I looked all over google for a place that serves good pizza and thought I had found it, especially since the restaurant was just outside some fancy hotels. This was unfortunately, the worst restaurant, food-wise, during our trip.

When we arrived, the sun was still shining brightly at 5.30pm and the terrace was extremely hot. It was only slightly cooler inside. The airconditioning in the upstairs area was not working and we were told it was hot there, so we didn’t bother going up. Fine. There was a table inside free.

Ordered a cheese pizza and spinach/ricotta ravioli.

While both dishes were ok and would have satisfied any non-Italians or gourmet patrons, they didn’t meet my mark. I guess it all depends on what you’ve had before and which country you come from. 😉

The ravioli was cooked a bit too al dente but they were large and the filling ample. They were smothered in a rich, thick tomato sauce. Sometimes, too much spoils a dish.

Pizza was edible. Not the kind I was dreaming of but ok for most people, I guess.

The other thing that bothered me was the hot sun beating into the (pizza) kitchen and the poor chef trying to work in this heat. A kitchen is already hot enough without sun. I leave the rest of my comments to your imagination. 😉

I don't understand the Good Reviews, maybe Friends write it for you! I order today with 8 Orders - The Quality of the Food is bad and all are Overpriced and endless Expensive for nothing! Don't Order from this Restaurant - 1. I wait for my Food 2 hours - estimatet time was 1 Hour! 2. This Food I receive for the Money - I pay it's a bad joke and very bad - The Pizza are very small, have so less Topics like nothing and comes complete cold and was very hard around - for this Price of your Pizza I can Order 2 Pizzas they are very better and more big in any other Restaurant - The Pasta also very small, taste of nothing and the Sauce like Water and not cooked done (half hard cooked) and the cheese beside it's like nothing too - I also take 1 Bottle Soda it's cost 25 EGP - I think I get 1L Bottle like on the Picture of the Product - and i receive a 240ml small Glass Bottle for this Price - All your food it's not value for the Money I pay - not for half of the approve I pay - it's cheating on people! You know when you’re on holiday and just wandering around, not expecting much — then boom, you find a spot that totally blows your mind? That’s exactly what happened when I stumbled across Mafia Pizzeria & Cafe in Hurghada.

Walking from my resort, I wasn’t looking for anything special… but the vibe of this place pulled me right in. It legit felt like I’d been dropped in the middle of Naples. The smells, the energy, the whole feel of the place – pure soul.

Then I met the legends running the show: Mohamed, Sharief, and Husam. These guys are absolute gems. And get this – Husam’s the chef, an Egyptian who’s never even been to Italy, but cooks like he’s straight outta Napoli. Everything’s cooked al dente, just right – no shortcuts, no nonsense. The pizza? Fire. The pasta? Unreal.

Honestly, Mafia Pizzeria isn’t just a restaurant, it’s an experience. If you’re in Hurghada, do yourself a favour and check it out. Resort food’s got nothing on this. Respect to Mohamed, Sharief, and Husam for keeping it real and...
