First time steak good, second time steak a catastrophe! Recently I ordered one South African steak, 300 grams. That was my first visit to the restaurant, and the steak looked 300 grams, filled the plate and was well done. That was on a Saturday. The second time I cam was on a Sunday. I ordered the same steak, also well done. When the waiter arrived, I was in shock. This time the steak was very very small, perhaps only a third of the size of the steak that was served to me the first time. The steak looked shrunk, like boiled for 30 minutes, not fresh, just plain terrible. I heard from someone who lives in Hurghada that this seems to be a custom here: first time you come you get a good steak (perhaps to write a good review), and then any more times you come back, you get only bad steaks. This happened to me also at Charlie's, another restaurant. I have to say through that there are some restaurants in Hurghada were the food is consistently good and always the same quality. I am still shocked by my experience. It seems to be like a lottery or maybe when the cook who knows how to make s steak works and then the other days, when some other cook works who is is totally incompetent. It is a shame for Hurghada and very bad for tourism that this situation exists,- one time quality steak, next time steak of such bad quality that it should not be sold. I wonder if the cooks and crooks who do this have ever contemplated that certain tourists will not come back to Hurghada because they cannot even get a steak that is eatable and worth what they pay for it. And also, that tourists tell their stories to other tourists and at home, so Hurghada is getting a very bad reputation. In my case, as the second time the steak was so very small and looked like a human fist, whoever the cook was, should not have served it and get fired ASAP. This person knew that anyone looking at this pitiful steak, that did NOT look like 300 grams, would immeditaley know that they were scammed. For a restaurant, there is basically no excuse to do something like this. I cannot imagine that something like this could happen in Spain or Italy or Germany or France, or in any other country. Ordered a mango caipriniha and was just appalled when it arrived, clearly the bar staff are not trained cocktail bartenders as the drink was made wrong cubed ice long glass mango juice not mango puree was just a mess ( I have spent 10,11 years in hospitality I know it like the back of my hand)
Ordered calamari for starters although the portion was decent they were quiet tough , we then ordered our mains I ordered a tomahawk with warm prawns grilled prawns sauted veg chimi sauce and pepper sauce
This is the worst meal I have had and am disappointed as all the reviews are so good, I ordered a medium rare tomahawk steak I got a well done steak which I could not send back as I was not prepared to wait another 40 mins for it to be re done I attempted to continue to eat but as I took more bites I realise how SALTY the steak and sauces were, so I’ve then put the steak to the side and just ate my 10 prawns which may I add were also cold overcooked and tough! At this point I just could not believe it birthday meal RUINED! I was not happy at all .
Upon paying the bill there was no discount given not even the 10 percent discount that was included when booking online!
There was no happy birthday no friendly gesture no offer of a free dessert nothing just a half hearted apology! I arrived hungry and excited and left hungry and disappointed.

The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated, the ambience was lovely and even the toilets are stunning (and I always think you can tell a lot about a place by how nice and clean the toilets are… if the owners have spent money on those and keep those clean then I’m damn sure everything else will be perfect and spotless too!).
The food was absolutely delicious, I honestly think it was the nicest steak I have ever had. It was really thick, succulent, cooked to perfection and absolutely no fat or gristle whatsoever. The flavour was incredible and it practically melted in my mouth. I had the Beef Tenderloin and the manager, Sherif, recommended the South African Rib Eye for my hubby. I tasted some of his too and it was just as delicious as my tenderloin and, again, a really good cut. We also had dessert, I had the cheesecake, which was very light and fluffy and hubby had the Crème Brûlée, which was also really nice.
The drinks were also very tasty, (we could definitely taste the alcohol in the cocktails!) and the service was excellent. Sherif and his team really looked after us and made sure we had everything we needed. Sherif was very friendly, funny and welcoming.
