The food is great but the service downhill

Slow service; they forgot the glass of wine twice Waited 40 minutes for sushi, then told 10 more minutes; ordered fajita 40 minutes after sushi 🍣 which arrived first… Total time: 1 hour 10 minutes; wish they had informed about the wait Staff struggles with English despite a large English-speaking community No soy sauce with sushi; regret ordering it Fajita doesn't come with wraps, which is unusual Manager walked off without letting me finish speaking, twice

Story: I've been to Retro many times, and it's usually great, but yesterday the service was kinda terrible. The slow service started with them forgetting the glass of wine twice. After waiting 40 minutes for sushi and being told it would be 10 more minutes, I decided to order the fajita as well. Ironically, the fajita arrived first! The total wait time ended up being 1 hour and 10 minutes, which wouldn't have been so bad if they had informed us at the start. To make matters worse, despite being in a location with a large English-speaking community, the staff struggled with English. The sushi arrived with no soy sauce, and I regretted ordering it. Plus, the fajita didn't come with wraps, which was very unusual. As if that wasn't enough, the manager walked off twice without letting me finish speaking.

Having visited the Retro Bar in its old location many times, we were excited to visit the new location this week. We were not disappointed at all. We were pleasantly welcomed and found a table with ease despite many tables having reservations already. This site is much larger than the former site and in a great location. Our drinks came quickly and were perfectly chilled. Our food order was taken and the starter came promptly, (we had already started eating starters before I took pictures so portion sizes actually much bigger). They were both hot and very tasty. After a short while our mains arrived, once again fresh and hot. The chicken curry was plentiful and exceptionally good. My partner had the Tomahawk steak which was cooked to perfection. I would highly recommend Retro if you want great food, pleasant surroundings, value for money and welcoming staff, owners and gorgeous resident dog. Congratulations Retro on your relocation - many bars and restaurants could learn a great deal from your teamwork. Thank you for having us and see you again REALLY SOON....

I have visited Retro pub today for the first time and was very disappointed about the food. Just 4 salads in the menu but I diceded to give a chance for Cesar Salad. It was not fresh, the lettuce melted, chicken didn't look attractive, like it was all prepared in advance. I complained it to the waiter, he pretended to ask about in the kitchen, but didnt suggest to change or cancel it. It was included in the receip!!! Not nice to ignore the complaines of the guest. I had also chicken wings in teriyaki sauce, but unfortunately it was not grilled but maybe boiled with water, the taste was not so bad. My friends had vegetarian pizza, which looked actually nice, fish'n'chips, fried cheese. Other guests were smoking inside. The owner was shouting at the waiter for some reason just in front of the guests, what is unacceptable in my opinion. I came home hungry! Would not recommend this place for food. I don't think I would visit this...
