To preface I'm from the UK and I was offered to come to France to fill a technical role. I'm a tax payer and I've taken lessons to learn to speak French. I don't yet feel comfortable though with doing a theoretical test in french. So I went in this morning to see if I could find out more information. I spoke with an asian lady, I didn't catch her name though. The conversation went a little like this:

"bonjour, do you speak english?" "yes, what do you want?" "I'd like to learn how to drive a 125cc motorbike but I was wondering if it's possible to do it in english?" "You dont speak french?" "no" "why not?? you're in france, you have to speak french! "..." "Are you taking lessons?" "yes but I find it quite difficult. it will take more time." "you have to learn french before you learn to drive"

She mentioned an attestation(permission paper), so I asked how this works. Are there requirements I need to be approved or is it just as simple as provided them my details? She said:

"I'm not giving you any information, you have to pay me if you want information!"

I'm still in awe. I understand that a lot of people dont like foreigners but I'm a productive resident here and I'm just trying to do my best. I'm dyslexic and find learning languages very difficult, I am trying but I can't wait until I'm fluent before I live my life. This reflects terribly on the company and country. I just took the 125 cc formation. I was great. The staff were always helpful and charismatic. The duration is about 7 hours 80% of the time either we were on the motorbike or next to it, learning and discussing on the spot. I had love the approach of practicing hands on and applying the theory "in real life". Benoit is very passionate and assured us. Passer mon permis moto A2 à près de 65 ans … « Mais quelle idée … » ! Après de chaudes recommandations familiales et dès les premiers contacts téléphoniques avec Nathalie, j’avais vite deviné être entre de bonnes mains ! Précision, disponibilité, gentillesse, professionnalisme de leur démarche … Malgré mes appréhensions liées à ce « projet tardif » et dès les premiers tours de roue lors des séances d’évaluation, Benoît fut d’une pédagogie et d’un pragmatisme à tout épreuve laissant rapidement la confiance s’établir ! Action : séances de « plateau » parfois épiques par pleine canicule ou de conduite en circulation par tous les temps et en toutes situation avec toujours la voix permanente de Benoît, véritable « ange gardien » dans mon casque, mêlant charisme et autorité, expérience, humour et bienveillance, jamais routinier, le véritable « esprit motard » chevillé aux corps et qui ne m’a plus quitté depuis ! 3 mois plus tard, mon permis A2 en poche et quelques milliers de kilomètres au compteur, enfin « petit padawan-motard » moi-même, fièrement posé sur son beau trail APRILIA "Tuareg" tout neuf, cette petite voix reste toujours présente, gravée à tout jamais dans mon esprit, comme un « airbag mental » permanant, me permettant de ne jamais oublier, à chacune de mes sorties, les pièges et les risques cachés … Cette expérience MAP restera pour moi unique et forte … Une équipe incontestablement rare et hautement recommandable !
