We visited the hotel's famous Le Dome bar for heavy hors d'oeuvres on Easter Sunday.

We started with a few hand-crafted cocktails, including the signature Le Dome, an homage to the city's pink pralines, and a classic spicy bloody mary.

We chose the Trilogy of Savory Delight to accompany the cocktails and were impressed with a three-tiered presentation of the snacks, reminiscent of our high tea treats in Zürich the prior weekend. Adding a salad and nuts with olives to round out our soiree. It was a very pleasant experience. The staff recommended a chardonnay to go with the food after our cocktails were gone.

The staff was extremely attentive but gave us privacy throughout our time there.

The space of Le Dome is really stunning. The craftsmanship many centuries ago stands the test of time. The InterContinental Hotel has added modern features to give the space a high degree of class without detracting from the art.

The Hôtel-Dieu de Lyon is more than just a beautiful building—it’s a masterpiece of Lyon’s architectural and cultural heritage, elegantly reborn for the modern age. Once one of the oldest hospitals in France, this grand structure along the Rhône River has been meticulously transformed into a luxurious complex housing a five-star hotel, gourmet restaurants, boutique shops, and a museum.

The building’s majestic 18th-century façade, crowned by the iconic dome designed by Soufflot (the same architect behind the Panthéon in Paris), is breathtaking. Inside, the transformation is just as impressive: vaulted halls, peaceful courtyards, and restored historic details are seamlessly blended with modern design and high-end amenities.

Nous reçoit une nouvelle fois entre ses "Murs" vénérables.

Il nous accueille à travers Jean-Luc Vianey, descendant du Saint Curé d'Ars, qui nous met en valeur les spécialités de la mer et de l’océan.

Soit, une copieuse "Petite Friture" de Lançon (en provenance de la région de Cherbourg), dignement accompagnée par un Pouilly Fumé AOC (vin blanc cépage Sauvignon produit autour de Pouilly-sur-Loire, aux notes subtilement fruitées, florales, et fumé, résultat du travail obstiné des Femmes & des Hommes, combiné à la générosité de la Nature.

Ce matin le Frère Daniel de Montmollin, "Céramiste d'Art" de la Communauté de Taizé, évoquait avec Thierry Lyonnet de la radio RCF, la nécessité de Respecter et d'appliquer trois principes essentiels : "La Nature, Soi et Les Autres".

Nous sommes aujourd'hui avec Jean-Luc Vianey, au Cœur de ces admirables et si nécessaires "Principes", lorsque Jean-Luc Vianey, Meilleur Ouvrier de France, établi ici au Grand Hôtel-Dieu, sous cette extraordinaire charpente, façonnée de la plus belle manière en poutres de chêne, par les ‘’Compagnons Bâtisseurs’’ du XVIIIème siècle.

Ceci nous invite à reconnaître la Force de cette Réalité, où prime à la Valeur de l'Homme, depuis celle de ce vaillant Pêcheur, à cet Artiste qu’est Jean-Luc Vianey, ensemble, chacun dans leur spécialité, œuvrent de la plus noble façon pour nous régaler, en nous proposant les multiples Saveurs que nous offrent si généreusement les fruits de la mer et de l’océan !
