Erick Ayache — Local services in Paris

Typically I do not ever feel comfortable writing bad reviews how ever this experience left me very upset. If I could rate less than one star, I would.

I had an absolutely terrible experience at this salon. When I initially booked, I was quoted €180 over the phone for root touch up, which seemed reasonable. Upon arriving, however, everything went downhill. The salon is difficult to find, extremely small, no windows and lacks proper air circulation—when hairspray is used on clients, it fills the air with toxic fumes. I was juggling travel and was under the impression that I had confirmed my appointment, but the hairdresser aggressively scolded me for not doing so when I arrived straight from the airport. He continued to do so throughout the 3 hours I was there. Given I mentioned I was from Canada he told me I must be from Quebec as none of them pay the confirmation/cancelation fee prior to appointments. I’m from Vancouver but this should not matter.

The entire session was chaotic. He was working on 3 women at once, leaving me sitting for long periods, despite my simple request for root touch-up. It took over 3 hours to complete the simple color - my hair as not thick! The result was far too dark and despite asking him to correct it, my roots were left much darker than the rest of my hair. His dismissive and arrogant attitude made me feel extremely uncomfortable.

To make matters worse, I was charged €250, well above the original quote. He tacked on an extra €60 for a toner that didn’t even fix the issue. The salon has only one uncomfortable sink with cold water, and the lack of care was glaring. He even bragged about doing celebrity hair, but based on my experience, that was completely unwarranted. Erick is a true gem-I am very fortunate to have found him! I had an amazing experience. He went above and beyond anything I expected. I booked from my home in USA using geek guide AI, hoping I could have a new “Paris” style. Erick was a delight from the moment I met him; he quickly assessed my hair. I stated I may need highlights and asked for his recommendations. He went to work and not only did he give me an awesome cut, he gave me outstanding highlights!!!! He suggested extensions but I was unsure and opted not to do but now wish I had agreed to his extensions suggestions. I observed many of his other clients who came in during my time there, learning they had extensions by Erick and they were so beautiful!!!! Erick is very personable and we quickly became friends. I stopped by, the next day, to let him know how pleased I was and how I followed his suggestions for a new way forward, he was so helpful and even guided me with so many tips for my first time stay in Paris. I truly feel I found a rare gem - Erick has amazing artistic abilities to transform hairstyles to make you feel and look your best! Thank you so much Erick-you made my trip to Paris...

Living in rural North Carolina, it is impossible to find a hair saloon that provides quality European type service. Even the larger cities are not schooled in the finer intricacies of hair care.
