Classes: The studios are very lightly heated, maybe around 75 - 80 degrees F, so I was really disappointed by the temperature because it just feels like a normally heated room and not truly hot yoga like I’m used to practicing. There are bright lights, really noisy fans, and huge mirrors, which I find distracting. The pace of the classes is quite slow and gentle, so I didn’t work up much of a sweat. They also need to put a limit on class sizes because some of the classes are PACKED, to the point where you have mats on top of other mats. I noticed people would come into the studio early, before changing into their yoga clothes to put their mat down and secure their spot. If you have a preferred place in the room, get there 15 minutes early!
For English speakers, some instructors switch back from French and English throughout the class. The pace is slow, and if you know some basic yoga poses, you’ll be fine!
Staff: Nice and friendly!
Amenities: 6 showers in the women’s locker room, but the water is sometimes cold. Tons of lockers with locks. Mat and towel rentals are also available.
Something to note: The gate is sometimes closed so you need a code to enter (check...
Read moreI came to class today (July 28, 2025) hoping for a calm, supportive experience. Before class started, a girl asked me to open the door, and I politely held it for her. The instructor Romain B Bourlanges then approached me, spoke in a harsh, arrogant tone, and told me to “behave,” saying it wasn’tmy studio. His manner was needlessly aggressive and put me into a panic state.. There was no reason to speak to me like that for opening a door. The interaction felt humiliating and hostile. I was shaken, went into a panic, and ended up leaving in tears without taking the class. Yoga spaces should be safe, compassionate, and inclusive. This experience was the opposite. I’m sharing this so others are aware and in the hope the studio provides training on professional. I won’t be back unless I hear that this instructor learn how to behave and study how to be mindful about his words...
Read moreA really friendly yoga studio, which I was introduced to by a French friend. Centrally located (just by Bastille metro station) with several classes a day in French, English or a mix of both, I would highly recommend Modo Yoga to friends.
It's good vibes only - everyone has a smile for each other (even after a hot yoga class) and there's clear body diversity, which I personally find refreshing (and should be normal). I make this point because I have practiced at several Paris yoga studios over the years and it's not always the case...
So far, I've done 5 classes with 3 different teachers and have loved every minute spent in class, not always easy when you're doing hot yoga! The monthly trial pass is such a good deal and I'm looking forward to discovering new teachers and classes! I also feel so at ease to ask for help if I'm not sure about a...
