It was so bizarre and fun to walk through a pizza joint to get to this bar, at first, I go find the menu, read it to decide which drinks do I want, when I show it to the busy bartender who's serving me and dozens of customers in there, I stand and wait a little bit because there's no seat left for me only( I'm solo). Luckily some one leaves, I don't know that but the bartender notice that and tell me to sit near the bar with him, he gave me some water and tell me that my drink will be ready soon (in English). Doesn't took that long, the drink arrived quite quickly. So to conclude the service, it was very nice, the bartender was so nice to me, every employee in that bar was very nice and friendly to me, they serve me cold water first, and also refill it whenever its empty(which is very nice) and gave me 2 cocktail. About the drink though, they are all in high quality and in taste, the first drink I have forgot the name of it, but the second drink I definitely remember, it's called Hossegor, a beautiful drink in a delicate thin rock glass, chilled to perfection and served with a perfect block of clear ice 🧊 and garnished with a flower petal. The taste of the Hossegor, sweet and sour at the right amount, cold and refreshing with a hint of alcohol and a lovely lovey aroma.
Definitely will visit this bar again and definitely will bring someone with the next time I come. Thank you, Moonshiner, for the experience and the...
Read moreMoonshiner is one of the most welcoming and coolest bars I've been in. It stays true to the essence of a speakeasy cocktail lounge. What many people call "speakeasy bars," are just period piece dark bars, with lots of brass and brick. An authentic speakeasy bar has its vestiges in the prohibition era, when alcohol was illegal. Thus speakeasy's, think about the name, were disguised behind legitimate venues and someone inside slid a latch to peer at you, and you had to "speak easy" to be allowed in.
Moonshiner is hidden at the rear of a pizza joint, and patrons enter through a large refrigerator door. Bravo! The decor is historically accurate, and that was a revelation. Moonshiner's design was definitively 1920s and 1930s. We nestled into two seats at the bar, and the three bartenders, two male and one female, could not have been friendlier on this hot May, 18th 2022. Moonshiner is air-conditioned, and that nod to modernity felt incredible on a hot and humid Wednesday night. All three barkeeps engaged with us with great humor and warmth. Listen, I'm in advanced age, speak French terribly, and most young, good looking French people may not be friendly. Not at Moonshiner. They treated us with no judgment, and the attractive young woman even acted goofy to make us laugh. That deserves another Bravo!
Drinks were wonderfully made and strong. We spent a fabulous two hours at Moonshiner and hope to...
