Valessio - Coiffeur Paris 9 — Local services in Paris

I had high expectations given the high reviews but have been very disappointed. I have some blue and purple strains in my hair. Once every six weeks, I usually just go to a random hairdresser, bring my own colour cream and ask them to add it on top. It’s a very easy process and never had any push back. I had an appointment for colouring at Valessio on a Saturday, and they refused to do the usual procedure saying that they only like to work with their own colours, as they can be certain about the final result, and that they didn’t have the right colours. Given that I had a big event wedding coming up and had absolutely no other chance of finding another hairdresser on time, I offered to pay in advance and to sign a waiver that I was not going to complain if the result wasn’t good, but to no avail. I actually spoke to another 5 hairdressers in the area and all were willing to do the pretty straightforward process, but unfortunately none had availability for the day. I was visiting Paris a few weeks ago and decided to try Valessio after reading several reviews about how good they were with Balayage. I’m an absolute perfectionist when it comes to my hair and I have been getting Balayage done in NYC for about 10 years by an amazing colorist from Paris, but struggled to find someone that could match his talent after he moved. I do not recall the colorists name who did my Balayage here at this salon but she was blonde and very nice—especially considering I don’t speak French. We used google translate to communicate what I wanted and she was able to do proper balayage (without foils) to color correct most of the bad color I had done by ‘senior balayage colorists’ in NYC that used foils and a really dark toner to correct the stripe-y look on the roots they caused by using the foils. If I had more time in Paris, I would’ve gone back to have the female stylist at Valessio do a second round of balayage. I highly recommend her...
