Let me start with: I am American. We really don’t have places like this in the U.S. If you are visiting from the United States you should definitely check this place out. After a long day of walking around the city of Strasbourg including climbing the 300 stairs to the top of the cathedral, this place was exactly what I needed. If you didn’t bring your swimsuit they will be glad to sell you one and guys if you don’t bring the correct swimsuit they will be glad to sell you the correct one too. You are going to need a speedo, square cut, or jammer suit. No board shorts or loose-fitting style swimsuits are allowed. It’s really not a big deal at all.

Once you get past that you are all set to enjoy everything they have to offer. You can pay to just swim but that’s pretty boring. If you pay for the “Bien Etre” (Wellness) you will get access to the Roman Bath’s upstairs that consists of two saunas, four rain showers with different water temperatures, steam room, and hot, medium, and cold plunges. Downstairs there is an additional wellness area with a sauna, a salt room, snow shower, jacuzzi, rain showers. The first floor also has two pools, and there is also another sauna and a heated outdoor swimming pool.

You must wear your swimsuit at all times and you are required to shower before you enter a pool for the first time and also after exiting the sauna. They do have specific day/times for nudity so be sure to check the calendar. You likely will want to make sure that your visit doesn’t conflict with one of the times where nudity is allowed unless that is what you are specifically looking for.

This is a place for everyone. We saw a lot of couples and people of all ages. Everyone was very respectful. It was pretty busy and some of the areas were louder than what you might expect but it didn’t bother us. We did not see anything weird or something that would make us feel uncomfortable.

My favorite part was the outdoor pool. It is heated and open during the winter. You swim through a small doorway to get from the outside into the pool. I would definitely come here again. The price is very reasonable for what you get.

My one complaint is that they don’t provide towels so be sure to bring your own. I’d be willing to pay more if towels were included or if they provided the option...

What a gem in the heart of Strasbourg!!! From the services offered, to the welcoming and professional staff, to the individual areas we engaged, our visits to Bains were extraordinary!!

The vast and varying stations available in the wellness area could easily take the better part of a day to fully enjoy and relax - ultimately refreshing and invigorating! Topping off an already exceptional day, the “California” massage, expertly delivered by Clement raised the bar. We left feeling completely new and re-energized.

The fitness area utilizes its space efficiently as Gautier has strategically stocked the fitness center with a nice variety of new exercise stations/machines, as well as free weights and a nice variety of cardio machines, all in a clean and well lit space. Staff is always on hand to answer questions or assist..

All of this is available in a wonderfully restored set of buildings in the heart of a truly magical city! Reasonable prices and accessibility make this a luxury achievable by anyone, anytime… Our next visit, we hope to join one of the culinary courses offered, as well as revisit all the other wonderful areas of the spa. We highly recommend and look forward to...

The City Baths were on my list when visiting Strasbourg — a historical monument AND hydrotherapy? Sign me up! The architecture is stunning with a combination of marble, ceramic, and painted glass. Built between 1904 and 1908, and restored from 2018-2021, the building is home to a fitness centre, massage cabins, two swimming pools, and public showers. They also hold aquatics programming, yoga, cross training, and culinary classes! I visited the 7000 sq.m. wellness area that includes an amazing outdoor heated bath, garden, salt cave, saunas, jacuzzi, and snow shower, as well as Roman baths ranging from hot, warm, and cold (21°C) along with steam room, saunas, and cold showers (ranging from 15-45°C). It cost €24 to visit for the day (plus €5 for towel rental); I spent 3 hours relaxing here…I could have absolutely spent the entire day, but had to make sure I saw the rest of Strasbourg, too! It was mostly seniors when I was visited on Thursday morning (I wanted to be there for the aufguss towel waving ceremony in the sauna). Highly recommend this experience for any visitors to Strasbourg looking...

A beautiful architectural gem with indoor and outdoor pools and saunas at a very affordable day ticket of €22. However, not suitable for the fans of genuine sauna experience - you are obliged to wear the swimming suit inside (there is a good reason why your swimming suit's washing temperature is 40C/60C and is therefore not allowed into saunas with higher temperatures), the "no sweat on the wooden benches" rule is not being enforced at all - sauna visitors normally sit on a towel in the dry saunas for hygiene reasons - and, worst of the violations of good sauna culture witnessed here, after sweating inside and exiting, practically no one had a shower before entering the common pools. Brr. On the plus side, the outdoor 'piscine' is vast and with beautiful views, the original changing rooms are charming and the Christmas tree in the foyer simply excellent.
