While the hotel has many positives i must say for a 4 night stay at a cost of approx £700 this hotel appears to have a major systems failure when it comes to the cards for their bedrooms and accessing the hotel. When you check in you receive 2 cards for your room. I arrived with my wife on Thursday morning 2 June at 10am and between that date and leaving on Monday 6 June we had to go to reception on at least 8 occassions to get the card reprogrammed as they failed every time we returned to hotel after being out for the day.To get the card reprogrammed I had to stand behind new guests checking in or guest's checking out. Guests asking questions or getting directions and then were asked the same questions before reception would reprogramme the 2 cards.
1 Whats your name 2 Whats your room number 3 When are you checking out.
When I asked why this was a continually problem, receptions reply was "oh its a system problem".
On the final occassion the receptionist has the audacity to ask me for photographic id. I was at breaking point at this stage, that this hotel is lucky I am not taking a case against them for charging me £700 for a service they failed to provide. If I was to calculate the time I spent going up and down to 7th floor (We were in room 729) top of the hotel, I would say, time wise I probably lost hours of my holiday.
So I say to the owner if this is a problem then you need to change your price per night or offer compensation to guests like myself whi have been inconvenienced by this "system...
Read moreThe room was clean and nice with all the usual stuff like TV, minibar, safe and so on. The toilet was a little unusually placed on its own with shower and sink in another room. This could have been practical if a sink was placed in the same place, but it isn't. When you've done your business you have to leave the toilet, through the bedroom and go into the bathroom to wash your hands. The days were very hot and it would have been nice with at least one complimentary bottle of water. The air-conditioning made noise but none of us could figure out how to actually make it adjust the temperature in the room. The control made no sense to two technicians. Location is excellent it's a brisk walk into the city centre and we recommend you choose the path through the park next to the hotel. If you for some reason want to see reeperbahn then by all means, it's right outside the door. It...
Read moreThe check-in process was disappointing: there was a long queue, and the staff appeared quite unhappy — miserable and unwelcoming. They were also not very helpful, which made me feel unsure about choosing this hotel the moment I arrived. The room, however, was nice and clean. However, there was a minor issue with the location of the power sockets; none were near the table, which was a bit inconvenient and posed a challenge for working in the evenings. The bed situation was also not what I expected — instead, an extra-large double bed , there were two single beds (mattresses) pushed together. My back didn't like it. The breakfast selection was good, and conveniently located in the building next door. Overall, my stay was just OK, but for my next visit to Hamburg, I will look for another...
