One regret... Didn't believe the guy when he said it was the best Loukoumi in all of Europe. I thought since this is my first buy of my trip I would find this level of yum all over Greece. NO. This loukoum was the best of the whole trip. So was the baklava. He went across the street to their Loukoumi factory when I asked for some and after tasting it I had him go across the street to get me another box. As I was leaving the store my sister walked up. Great neighborhood bakery! Excellent pistachio baklava, delicious sweets and pastry including traditional sweets and loukumi, everything is fresh! The shop is very clean and we'll organized. A lovely family business that has been operating since 1950. Located not too far from the archaeological site of Akropolis, Vomvyla Pastry is the best place to get fresh turkish delight amongst others, a delicacy hard to find at most local pastry shops in Athens. The owner was very friendly and polite enough to treat me to a delicious sweet. Staff was helpful and kind.
