Food: amazing. The cakes are indescribably good.

Beverage: perfect. They do caramel latte in perfect way.

location: very well located

Setting: it’s a very tiny place. With the pictures I saw in Google it gave me the impression that they had tables inside but no, it’s just a mini pastry shop with terrace and you seat outside. The issue is they have no toilet or they claim not to have. They send you to the restaurant next door. So I followed the instructions. Despite the restaurant owner being extremely nice, he told me that it was unacceptable that they would send everyone to their toilets and that they have a toilet, they just don’t want to give the key. He continues by saying that the Alchemist nor any other pastry shop or restaurant could be opened in Greece if it didn’t have a toilet (which makes sense in my humble opinion). He finalises by asking me to tell the Alchemist owner that they need to stop sending people there to use their toilettes.

Staff: not the most friendly. I returned to pastry shop and pass the message to the waitress who pretended to hear it for the first time and again pointed to the signage that said no toilet.

Others: I finally understood why they gave so many review in google maps. They have in every table a QR code and they basically beg for reviews with so many signs hanging everywhere.

Conclusion: their pastry is great, but it is not worthy of being shamed for using others toilet nor to be standing outside...

Go here! The gentleman who runs this place is the nicest man. He was there all day. We got coffee in the morning on the way to the Acropolis as well as mini lemon pies. Both excellent. I had trouble finding some good iced coffee in Europe and this man makes an excellent cappuccino freddo. He adds cinnamon if you like and it is crazy good! Later we stopped back and had more cappuccinos and the baklava and took apple pies to go. Everyone writes about the baklava but it truly is amazing. We have a lovely Greek restaurant back home in CA and my kids confirmed that doesn’t even compare to the baklava here. Editing to add we are the apple tart the next day and get out of town! I’m not sure what’s in that thing but it is like crack. Sooo amazing!! I honestly liked it better than the baklava. Which was also amazing. Our family was split on which was better- so just get one of each!! The location is very close to Plaka/ the Acropolis. Make it a point to stop here and get coffee...

A great place to take a quick coffee break with plenty of pastries to select from and even some gelato ice cream.

WARNING however, the coffee can be very strong here, the way it's meant to be. The staff is very helpful and asked me if I wanted a single shot or a double shot of espresso in my drink, telling me it is very strong with double shot. If you are not used to a strong coffee taste, it's best to get a single shot latte with plenty of added sugar.

The staff is very friendly and very kind and spoke pretty much perfect English. They helped me and my wife customize our coffee to the way we like it... although, in the end, it was still a bit too strong for us.

After we finished our coffee, we each got Gelato ice creams in cones to eat while walking around.

If you like authentic espresso coffee drinks, this place is worth a try. The prices are ok as well, compared to more...

Cute little patisserie near the Acropolis. Perfect to satisfy your sweet tooth desire. Offers a number of options to choose from baklava to Spanakopita and fresh gelato. I would recommend to pop in here after your visit at the Acropolis Museum.
