Best Gyros and Souvlaki in town! Period!

Don't get swayed by the look of the shop (a small kebab shop) with limited space to sit and eat. However, where it lacks the space and the ambience, it makes up for it for the excellent and kind service of the staff and even more than delicious and perfect Gyros!

The first time we went there, we orded a Souvlaki (sweker) wrap. As we were eating, one of the staff came out and gave us both some chicken and pork gyros meat to try. It was absolutely delicious and he knew that we would love this more than the skewers.

We saw all of the positive reviews and decided to check this place out, and we back to it 3-4 times. We were so sad that we couldn't have one final wrap on our final day at Athens as they were closed, but we have taken ample amount of memories and good taste to last a lifetime.

The staff were super polite, respectful and also let of small changes and charged slightly lesser. It was one of the best experiences that my wife and I had in Athens. Everytime we have tried food from fancier looking restuarants we have thoroughly been dissaponted (both because of lack of taste and the over priced items). My wife and I consider ourselves to be big foodies (our shirt sizes back that up too lol) and we travel all over the world just to eat. Without exaggeration, the Empiro Grill has the BEST gyros we’ve ever had and second place is not even close.

What is even more amazing is that the owner (or manager) was so incredibly nice. My wife and I were confused when we walked in because the menu is just in Greek. He saw us confused and he was like “what kind of gyro you want? Pork?” I just confirmed and he said “trust me, you will like this” and quickly handed my wife and I our gyros. Even typing that up seems fake, but I promise you that it’s true. We ended up sitting outside and he even came out and gave us chairs to sit on!

We took one bite and yes, it definitely was the best gyros we’ve ever had. Meat was not greasy, super flavorful tzatziki, delicious tomatoes and fluffy bread. We ate them in about 5 minutes and we had to go back for more. We ended up splitting their chicken gyro and it was absolutely delicious. Perfectly seasoned chicken and the mayo was so delicious.

I stumbled across this grill restaurant after just arriving in Athens. It was so cold since I did not have winter clothes, and I saw the light from the shop and quite a few customers enjoying their gyro wraps. I decided to step inside and buy a chicken gyro wrap, and I was handed it very, very quickly, and with such friendliness. The wrap was amazing, fresh, and not very greasy.
