Scandal! Offensive and humiliating treatment of a foreign customer!
On July 20th, 2025, around 10:30 AM, I was treated in an absolutely unacceptable way by the woman working at the self-checkout area in this store. What happened was a shameful display of rudeness, aggression, and contempt towards a foreign customer.
I made my purchase for an exact amount, had the receipt in hand, and decided not to take one dessert item, which I returned. As I tried to leave the store, I was aggressively stopped by the staff member, who didn't speak a word of English and showed no willingness to understand or help.
She immediately started yelling at me in Hungarian, even though I told her I didn’t understand and asked her to speak English. I calmly showed her the receipt and explained I had paid for everything, but that only seemed to make her more hostile. She acted as if I were a criminal, even though I clearly had proof of payment. She kept shouting and pointing at the screen, accusing me of not paying — all of this in front of many people in the store. I don't speak Hungarian, but from her tone and behavior, it was obvious she was insulting me. I felt humiliated, attacked, and completely disrespected.
A security guard came to help and understood that everything had been paid for, but the gate wouldn’t open again with the same receipt (which is a system flaw — not my fault). He asked her to open the gate, but she refused multiple times. Eventually, the guard had to take her hand holding the gate opener and physically guide it to the scanner to let me leave. She clearly didn’t want to help and treated me with open hostility the entire time.
This was an embarrassing and disgraceful situation. Such behavior should result in serious disciplinary action or immediate dismissal. In a store located in a tourist-heavy city, it is unacceptable that staff don’t speak English and treat foreign customers like criminals.
I will never shop here again. Avoid this place...

Dear customers, don't use the self checkout payment terminals, one of them blocked right when I payed with my card, even though the transaction was successful from my bank and I got debited. The real problem started when the old lady assistant insisted on making me pay again and checked my products again in another machine instead of solving the problem or checking if it was already paid, and she got mad when I showed her my bank statement for the transaction I just did. Arrogancia, valahogy csak az nincs, amire szükségem lenne, segítség helyett csak "egy hulye rokkant" jellegű rámbámulások - es bizony továbbra is üvölt az athallas a kiírt es a fizetendő arak valamint a pénztáros, a biztonsági szolgálat es a vezetősèg között. Koszonet illezi őket ezért mert meg tudtam latni hogy van elet a sparon kivul is, rokkantan is el tudok gyalogolni egy km-t egy olyan helyre ahol embernek neznek, vigyaznak a rokkantnyugdijamra és meg az egeszsegemert is (úgy a fitikaiért mint a mentálisert) tehettem valamit. Tobb mint 10 evig voltam állandó vevójuk de orulok hogy ennek 5-6 eve vége - valtson, aki teheti. Borzasztóan tudnám értékelni, mozgás- és látáskorlátozottságommaal együtt élve is és emberileg is, hogy ha bizonyos allateledel állandó hiánya miatti ķerdesemre adott válaszával nem űzne igen durva viccet kedvenc pénztárosom a nyomoromból azzal, hogy "fogjon neki egeret" - 1/ abszolút vevőriasztó duma 2/ soha senki nem tudhatja hogy mikor kerül az enyémhez hasonló helyzetbe. Mindenki aki a pult/kassza másik oldalán áll, nem csak magát hanem a boltjat is minősíti. Jóerzésű ember jól gondolja meg a bolt kuszoben innen... LESÍJTÓ hellyé vált.
