A Disappointing Experience with Amrith Ice Cream - Beware of Misleading Reviews!
Rating: 1/5 stars
I'm extremely disappointed with Amrith Ice Cream, which I recently tried based on the recommendation of popular food blogger Kripal Amanna. As one of his followers, I trusted his judgment, but boy, was I wrong! The ice cream was of shockingly bad quality, and I would strongly advise against wasting your money on it.
The ingredients seemed to be nothing more than water, chemicals, and artificial flavors. It was like eating a sweetened ice cube with an unpleasant aftertaste. I suspect that the ice cream is prepared in unhygienic conditions, possibly even in home kitchens without proper sanitation and food safety measures.
What's even more disturbing is the recipe misinformation spread by some influencers, including Kripal Amanna. I've seen recipes claiming to use high-quality ingredients and elaborate preparation methods, but it seems like a far cry from reality. For instance, one recipe suggested using "fresh cream and natural flavorings," but the ice cream I got from Amrith Ice Cream tasted like a mixture of low-grade dairy products and artificial additives.
As someone who followed Kripal Amanna's recommendations, I'm particularly disappointed in his endorsement of Amrith Ice Cream. It seems like he's more interested in promoting products for clicks and views rather than genuinely good food. I urge others not to fall for the hype and to be cautious when trying new food products, especially those recommended by influencers.
In short, avoid Amrith Ice Cream at all costs. It's suitable only for low-wage workers who can't afford better, and even then, it's a stretch. If you're looking for a good ice cream experience, keep looking.
Update: I'll be unfollowing Kripal Amanna's page and urging my friends to do the same. It's time to hold influencers accountable for the products...
Read moreI visited Amrith Ice Creams, after watching the much-hyped episode by Kripal Amanna, and I must say this turned out to be extremely disappointing.
From a technical perspective, the product being served here hardly qualifies as âice cream.â Genuine ice cream must contain a significant proportion of milk solids and real ingredients (as per FSSAI/industry standards), but what is sold here tastes like itâs made with 90% water and sugar. There is minimal to no evidence of quality milk fat, cream, or authentic chocolate. The texture is icy, the mouthfeel is flat, and the flavor is artificial â classic markers of low-grade frozen desserts, not true ice cream.
This is highly misleading for customers expecting artisanal or premium quality. With even basic food knowledge, it becomes apparent that these are third-grade formulations passed off as âhandmade ice cream.â
I am also surprised that Kripal Amanna, who usually highlights genuine food experiences, endorsed this place without calling out these obvious shortcomings. Unfortunately, it reflects poorly on his credibility as well.
My advice to Bangaloreans: Please donât rely blindly on Instagram reels or YouTube vlogs when choosing eateries. Always do your own research and trust your own palate.
Verdict: Overhyped, misleading, and not worth the money. If youâre looking for authentic ice cream made with real milk and natural ingredients, this is...
Read moreWe had heard about the hand made ice creams at this family run icecream and decided to visit it to try their icecreams. First we tried their kulfis which were decent. They were quite different from the type you get in Delhi and had a smooth taste to them. They are the kind of kulfis children returning from school would love to savour at pocket friendly prices. Then we decided to try some flavours of their icecreams which are available as cup or cones. We preferred the cups. Initially we had the fig N Honey and Manoranjini icecreams both of which were very good. They were not very sweet and good in taste. The texture was very natural and the icecreams were quite light. We just had to taste more. So we went for a combination of fruit salad with icecream. The salad was fresh cut fruits which were nice. I took it with black currant icecream while my companion took mango icecream with it. Both loved it and called it a day! The family running the shop was very polite and friendly. They are a small shop and make the icecreams themselves behind with machines. If you love cultured hand made icecreams, this is the place to go to. My advice would be to time the visit in such a way that first you have tiffin at Sri Raghavendra Stores outside Malleswaram Railway station and then end the meal at Amrith Icecream. That's what we did and came back...
