Located in the temple-dense spiritual belt of Malleshwaram, Om Shri Gangamma Devi Temple is a beautiful and spiritually charged shrine dedicated to Goddess Gangamma, a powerful manifestation of Shakti. The temple is steeped in tradition and revered as a sacred spot where devotees seek protection, prosperity, and relief from difficulties.

The temple is believed to be over a century old, established when Malleshwaram was still emerging as a residential area. Even today, it holds deep emotional and spiritual significance for locals, many of whom have worshipped here for generations. Goddess Gangamma is worshipped as a guardian deity, and her blessings are sought for everything from good health to familial harmony.

One of the most striking aspects of this temple is its cleanliness and beautifully maintained architecture. The temple structure has been recently renovated while preserving its traditional South Indian style featuring ornamental pillars, intricately carved motifs, and vibrant colors that give it a festive yet solemn aura. The sanctum is simple yet powerful, and the overall temple premises are kept remarkably clean, quiet, and orderly—something that stands out even among Bangalore’s more prominent temples.

The spiritual ambience is especially strong on Tuesdays and Fridays, when special pujas and offerings are made. The temple also draws large crowds during local festivals dedicated to the goddess, yet it manages to maintain a calm and disciplined atmosphere. The priests are approachable and perform the rituals with devotion, adding to the authenticity of the experience.

This temple sits amid a constellation of historic temples in Malleshwaram—including Kadu Mallikarjuna Swamy Temple, Dakshinateertha Shiva Temple, Nandi Tirtha, and Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swami Temple, making it part of a sacred circuit that’s ideal for half a day of spiritual exploration.

Like most temples in this old locality, parking is a challenge. The narrow roads and limited space make it advisable to walk or use public transport. An early morning or late evening visit is best for a peaceful darshan.

Whether you’re a local devotee or a spiritual seeker exploring Malleshwaram, this temple is well worth your time...

Beautiful Temple, all the deities are looking so divine and the decoration done to them are just breathtaking...few steps to climb to enter the temple ...had the opportunity to take part in morning arthi.. Actually our uncle had paid for abhishekam and they told him to come by 9 am ...he mistook that to be the starting time of abhishekam and when we all entered the temple by 9am maha aarthi was being performed after the abhishekam ..it was their 50th wedding day ...which left us all very disappointed ...when they enquired in the office room, they said it's our mistake of not checking properly ,ok we accept we made a mistake but they should inform while booking for the abhishekam the right starting time and that should be mentioned in the bill and on the notice board too and there wasnt any courteous reply also ...the lady maintaining the crowd was very rude too..it wasnt very crowded that she had to push us away ... anyway the temple is beautiful

A Divine Experience at Gangamma Temple The best landmark for this temple is the Kaadu Malleswara Temple. The temple is well-maintained, neat, and clean. Praying to Gangamma in this serene environment offers a truly divine and peaceful experience. I visited the temple during the Gangamma Jathre (2022) on the final day of the event. The Jathre usually lasts for three days, and the third day, when the Karaga procession takes place, is considered the most auspicious. The crowd is immense, and the atmosphere is lively and vibrant. The temple's decoration, the people, and the Karaga procession create a powerful feeling of divinity. However, the worst part of the experience is the crowd management. Unfortunately, the treatment of visitors was not pleasant during this time. This review is based entirely on my experience.
