This is a new place in Labuan Bajo, take place at the town center Jalan Soekarno Hatta. Nice vibe for dinner (as the name ‘Senja’ means dusk) the concept is semi outdoor with view facing the Marina Harbour. Wooden chairs and tables and spacious place but welcoming. It is suitable for groups but it is also welcome solo or couple traveller. The food is tasty and cheaper compared to other similar restaurant in Labuan Bajo (it is well known that Labuan Bajo is pricey) but susprisingly not with this place. The menu has coffees/espresso, juices, fresh coconut and the main menu portion is satisfying. A plate full of options from carbo, fiber and proteins. Taste is Balinese food like. If you like Ayam Betutu and similar you will love this place. We took Nasi Campur Bali and Nasi Campur Manggarai, the last one is more like fusion and contemporer style but still satisfying my tounge and tummy. I would recommend this place when you visit Labuan Bajo. It is located at place was called Gardena Hotel, now it is Senja Eatery, perhaps same owner but coming up with new and fresh brand, also with nice...
Read moreVery tasty. My wife and I have travelled a lot through Indonesia, so no need to tell we know our Nasi Goreng. This was before we get to try the Nasi Goreng Sei (smoked beef) at Senja Eatery : what a discovery, so tasty! Chefs realise a perfect balance between the spices and the smoked beef, which make it unique, be careful it is addictive. We fot to trynthe bebek (duck) goreng as well that was very good. Nice piece of meat and not dry as it can be often the case in indo. We also had the pleasure to taste a dish not yet on the menu but coming soon : shredded smoked fish with lime and leaves. You have to try that, it is a killer. Bill was really reasonnable as well, in fact much cheper than the other restaurants around. View is nice and staff very helpfull. 5 stars : tasty, creative and excellent value for...
Read moreWe ordered Sate Kesambi (beef) and Octopus Sate. The beef was ok. The Octopus Sate has 6 sticks but very small Serving. The octopus was hard to chew. Given the serving size, i say that their food is expensive.
The eatery location is good because it is just across our hotel. It is in a higher ground so you need take a their long stairs up to the eatery.
The eatery is open air (alfresco) and no designated smoking area. Theres a big chance you get to sit next to customers who smoke.
We were surprised that the serving time took about 40 minutes for our 2 orders despite there were only few customers (about 5 tables occupied at the time of our visit).
Their staffs were welcoming and...
