I donât usually leave reviews, especially negative ones, but this place wasnât worth the time or money.
We arrived a few minutes before our scheduled time, later than intended because we went to the wrong location which was our fault. Even so, no one was there. After waiting outside, someone finally showed up and asked us to wait on the street while they set up. About five minutes later, another staff member arrived and let us in. To their credit, the staff were friendly.
Side Note: Before entering the room, we were asked to leave our bags and phones in an unlocked box at the front, then we were locked inside the room. Maybe that is standard in Italy, but after doing over 20 escape rooms in the US and even working at one, it felt very off putting to be locked away from our unsecured belongings.
The briefing was minimal, essentially just âsave the world,â with no real storyline or context. Once inside, we immediately ran into two broken puzzles. Instead of fixing them, the staff gave us the answers or blamed poor connections in the room. Many clues were barely legible due to smudged handwriting, and the hints we asked for often did not match where we were in the game.
The biggest issue was being told to ignore a paper that later turned out to be a major clue. When we pointed this out, the staff did not acknowledge that they had said it. This could have been a language misunderstanding, but based on their otherwise clear English, it did not feel that way.
Overall, the room was bare, confusing, and poorly designed with very little sense of flow. If you are looking for an escape room experience, I recommend finding a different one than...
Read moreOverall impressions: quite run down but with a few clever puzzles and some exciting features. A few too many locks, in our opinion. Helpful staff, but a bit unprofessional. The good: A lot of effort went into thinking of some of these puzzles. Staff gave us extra time after it became obvious that there were problems with the room. The bad:
We booked Gomorra game as being the best one in Naples. When arriving no one was there, I called and the person was very helpfull informing that since was a bit earlier, the colleague was almost there. Indeed, after 10min the colleague arrived (who turned out to be our game master), and was completely wierd. We entered, and were asked if we had experience, we said yes, and the girl gave us the introduction to the game on a tedious way. We started the game, founding most of the pieces really degraded, but we kept solving the puzzles. The game is not linear and unlike the rest of escape games rules, in this particular game YOU HAVE TO USE SEVERAL TIMES THE SAME ITEM, even thought you are not informed of that. You will find a white board that was supposed to have a pen, but had no ink, so you couldn't use it. For one of the last steps you Will get a hand written paper giving you a hint, that actually prevents you to solve the puzzles instead of helping. At the end, we asked how to solve the last puzzle, before we understood that paper was not helping, and She told us that She didn't know as well. Also, another puzzle we said that was not working properly and also she claimed that She didn't know as well, and it didn't make a lot of sense but it was like that. Unfortunately, the sucessfull rate is low not because the game is that hard, but due to the poor quality of the puzzles and the...
