Let me start off by saying I had really high expectations with the 5 star reviews and we got off to a good start. The service was excellent, the waitress/lady was lovely. and the food came out quickly. The food was decent but it was hard to make a proper judgement of whether it was necessarily good or just average as we didn’t really get to a substantial meal to judge it on. It was fresh, don’t get me wrong, but everything is in this city. I can’t help but feel pretty let down to be honest; mainly on the value for money (almost to the point of feeling a little bit ripped off). The lady convinced me that the degustation was worth trying as you get to taste lots of different dishes which I am all for as I’m an ambitious eater that loves everything, and will always go off a waitress recommendation, so I thought, great that’s me. Attached are the photos of the meal. 5 very small dishes and certainly not worth the 20 euro price tag. I’ll admit I missed two photos; 1 of a half salmon skewer about the size of my thumb the other a spoonful of a potato salad which was served in a half shot glass size bowl; but neither which shifts this into the good value for money bucket. So much so that I sat around for about 20 minutes after the small plate of clams expecting some sort of small pasta or substantial portion as the main act. I then realised nothing else was coming so I thanked them and asked for the bill. I’ve been to quite a few good osterias in Naples so I feel like I have a fair feel for what you get for your money. Maybe I ordered incorrectly, but with what I was served, I think you get far better value for money and quality at most other restaurants in Napoli. I’m not one to rate restaurants down very often but I just think 5 stars is a massive oversell on this one.

Incredible authentic seafood restaurant. Rotating menu based on what's fresh-caught. You know a restaurant is the real deal when they just write the menu on a little chalkboard. I had a fantastically fresh sea bream in creamy pasta, absolutely delightful. Easily the best seafood I had in Naples. Linguine with clams was great as well, and they give you a generous portion. I also had two fantastic glasses of two different Campanian wines at the server's suggestion with my meal. The unforgettable dining experience was capped off with two apertif liquors: a licorice drink and the classic limoncello. The meal was already a great value made even sweeter with several shots of these tasty liquors. No dessert available, and the degustation menu was a minimum of two people, but the meal was so fantastic that I have no complaints! Reservations highly recommended. I was able to make one a few hours earlier, but saw many people turned away at the door since it's a pretty small restaurant.

We went to Sottocoperta based on the very high Google rating. First, this is a smaller, popular restaurant so reservations are required. The people are very nice and we had a nice table & good service. The menu is limited & is unusual in being written (in faded & often unreadable chalk) on a movable chalkboard. It makes deciding what to order more difficult. There are two pasta dishes, which we ordered, and several fried or grilled seafood options (these can be had as tapas for €20/person). We tried the fried anchovies. These were good but a touch too salty. The spaghetti with clams came with a large portion of small baby clams, which were time consuming to go through. It would have been better with fewer larger clams. The dish was also overly salty. The pasta with fish came with a generous amount of yellowtail chunks and was nice but lacked seasoning. There is no dessert offered. Overall, an inconsistent experience.
