Un Sorriso Integrale is in a great location just a few steps from Piazza Bellini, and a few steps away from where my husband and I were staying. We stopped by for lunch one day and were a few minutes early. No problem, they let us sit and wait while they finished writing up the menu for the day. After we received the menu it took a while for someone to come back and take our order, and it took forever for our food to come out. There were only two or three other tables occupied, and they got their food before we did even though they arrived and ordered after us. It took at least 45 minutes for our food to come out. The minimal service we received throughout was quite bland and not friendly. A very chilly vibe. Our bill came to over 50EUR and we tried to pay with a 100EUR bill (it was the second day of our trip and we didn't have a lot of small bills yet) and they refused. I've been to Italy several times and I know that they hate big bills/love exact change. However, it is not unreasonable to try to break a 100EUR bill for an amount over 50EUR. I was excited to try this vegetarian restaurant in Napoli, but the service was just so off-putting. The food we had was good, but nothing exceptional that would compel me to go back or...
Read moreAfter arriving at 7pm (When Google said it opened at 7) we were told they opened at 8pm. We went back at 8pm (I've updated the hours of opening as they aren't displayed on the door or menu outside) and took a seat ourselves. The menu is in English as well as Italian. We both had the fried chickpeas which were ok. I had the mixed €9 platter and my friend had the tofu burger. His burger was Ok, but not that exciting. And the mixed platter was ok but again not really terribly flavoursome. It's as if they hadn't heard of spice or herbs. It made a change to eating the monotomous offering of pizza and pasta this city has by the bucketloads. But in all honesty the food was lacklustre and lacking in imagination. Not the worst vegetarian restaurant I've eaten in but no way as tasty as any you would find in the UK or Germany or Poland or Ireland or Spain, and I've eaten in hundreds around the world! The chocolate souffle was not a souffle but a bit cake ish with chocolate sauce. The drinks were nice, if a little on the tiny side for juice. €2 service...
Read moreI like to support restaurants who cherish ecological veggie foods. Even though this one only had 4,2 stars on maps we decided to check it out ourselves. Turns out I can only rate it with 3 and this is why: First of all our service did not seem to like his job. I find this highly irritating and to be honest it makes me feel unwelcomed. Every time I had a request he seemed deeply annoyed (my vinnigar bottle was empty, we wanted to pay with card and - omg - contactless as well). There was no bread served or offered. The lavatories smelled full of chlorine and most responsible for this quite poor rating was my salad. In a veggie restaurant I think salads should not be some standard 3-ingredient-somewhat thing. Mine was. Iceberg salad with some carrot and cucumber pieces. I was glad I took the one with mozzarella because otherwise I would not have been nearly satisfied. I was sad though that I had this kind of dull and boring salad bowl. But make your own experience ......
