We absolutely loved this place. The staff was very friendly and kind to us and our extremely novice Italian. We went right at 7:30pm which is right when they open for dinner service and were among the first couple of people there. I recommend arriving around that time for a faster service. We had the Kombucha cocktails to start and they were a delight! We then had the meat platter, two bowls for dinner (elegante for me and gustosa for my husband) and were so full by the end we ALMOST couldn't get desserts. We did anyway, haha, and I got a delicious pistachio gelato and my husband got a lemon tiramissu that were very light and tasty. The service was quick and everyone was super friendly. The ambiance was lovely and the space is small and homey. It was a great experience and we would come back to Naples just to eat here again. Truly a gem. Se potessi darei meno di una stella. Non so come si mangia ma so come si viene trattati. Sono entrata in questo locale sabato alle 20:30 (pensando che avesse mantenuto la vecchia formula, dove c’era tutto già pronto ed eri libera di prendere il cibo pesarlo e mangiarlo. Una sorta di fast food, ma con buon cibo). Ma torniamo a noi! Arrivo alle 20:30 e quando scopro che il ristorante non ha più la vecchia formula, chiedo ad una cameriera (protagonista centrale di questa storia/recensione) se in mezz’ora ce l’avessi fatta ad ordinare e mangiare, anzi la mia domanda è stata posta in maniera negativa, ho detto: “ma è vero che in mezz’ora non ce la faccio a ordinare e mangiare?!” Ma la nostra amica cameriera non si è arresa, non so forse doveva portare a termine qualche record di cui noi non siamo a conoscenza, ma con fare convinto mi dice “no vai vai vi sbrigo io! Sedetevi subito facciamo”. Al che io mi siedo, pensando che forse, avesse roba già quasi pronta, che conoscesse i tempi della cucina e che fosse veramente una cameriera gentile. Avevo poco tempo per pensare da lì a mezz’ora dovevo essere a teatro, e la nostra amica cameriera lo sapeva. Ma beh! Mi siedo alle 20:30 alle 20:42 inizio ad ordinare, nel caos più totale di un locale che ovviamente è pieno di sabato sera. Si avvicina un cameriere, che della nostra storia sarà l’unico sano di mente e gli dico che anche se siamo in due conviene ordinare una sola portata per non ingozzarci. Lui comprensivo della situazione dice “si ragazze fate bene”, si gira si dirige verso la cucina e la nostra amica cameriera lo ferma gli fa uno sguardo per dire “cavolo ma non lo sai che dobbiamo vincere il record?!” Il ragazzo torna indietro e dice “comunque se volete ordinare altro non c’è problema, subito facciamo”. Noi, povere illuse, ci facciamo convincere e ordiniamo anche un altro piatto. Oramai il tempo scorre, lo ordine è partito e la nostra amica cameriera non ha più nulla di cui , preoccuparsi il suo scopo è stato raggiunto. Oramai si fanno le 20:55 e niente è arrivato al tavolo, io dico che non posso più aspettare e che devo andarmene e la nostra amica cameriera mi guarda e dice “ ma tu sei arrivata 10 minuti fa! Cosa ti aspettavi?! La roba bisogna cucinarla!”. Proponiamo di farci fare tutto take away visto che non mi venivano date soluzioni. Alla fine la cameriera non si scompone io le pago il conto di 25 euro e le dico che non voglio assolutamente nulla, nemmeno il take away, perché una volta uscita dal locale avrei dovuto buttare tutto visto non potevo nè mangiarlo nè portarlo a teatro. La nostra amica cameriera ha preso i soldi non si è scomposta, ha solo detto “perché ti arrabbi mica sono la proprietaria?!” E niente! Ho regalato 25 euro a questo locale. Cockroaches in the restaurant and rude server. I told the server that I found a big cockroach in the toilet and in the restaurant, and he said “that’s just Naples”. Our dinner was already served, so we decided to eat anyways. We should have left. The starter (the meat charcuterie) was bland and tasted of nothing. Same with the Octopus bowl and the salmon bowl. The server continuesly made comments about the cockroach while we were eating and made us very uncomfortable. When we were finished with dinner, he asked us what he should have done about the cockroach in a sarcastic manner. When I suggested that he at least removed it from the restaurant while we ate, he just mocked me. I’ve been to alot of restaurants and had bad service but I’ve never felt this uncomfortable.
