Osteria Trabucco — Restaurant in Palermo

Just don't do it. The place was recommended to us by our host and it's just not worth it. The starters was not good and these were the first sign. I just couldn't eat the seafood salad because I always had something crispy/bones in the octopus. Than we have waited 2 hours for the main courses we have asked / complaint about it several times. We have ordered 1 pasta and 2 pizza none of them was finished! Because of its taste, we didn't know what was so strange about the mushroom then I tasted it... It was the 100% canned mushrooms taste. At the end and we have waited ~20 minutes for the bill again I had to asked several times.. I was really upset and was about to leave...it is chaotic and far away from quality and it was overpriced as well the most expensive dinner we have had during...

What tourists are served here is a disaster! Quello che viene servito ai turisti qui è uno scandalo!

Wir hatten als Vorspeise die Auswahl an sizilianischen Spezialitäten bestellt. Eigentlich sollte unter anderem Sizilianische Pizza (Sfincione) dabei sein - in Wirklichkeit war das nicht die typische sie. Pizza, sondern eine normale, nur eben die allerhärteste Pizza, die wir je gegessen haben. Auch die übrigen Teile des Vorspeisentellers waren nur Ramsch: entweder zu trocken oder zu fettig oder geschmacklos.

Ein Hauptgericht - Lachs mit Pistazienkruste - war extrem trocken und sehr fettig. Das zweite Hauptgericht: Pasta mit Schwertfisch - war ok, aber auch hier war der Fisch sehr trocken.

Außerdem haben wir über eine Stunde auf unser Essen gewartet.

Kann sein, dass Einheimische hier besser bedient werden, aber wir können diese Restaurant absolut nicht empfehlen.

We had ordered the selection of Sicilian specialties as an appetizer. Among other things, Sicilian pizza (Sfincione) should be served - in reality, this was not the typical type of pizza but a normal one, just the very hardest pizza we have ever eaten. The rest of the appetizer plate was also just junk: either too dry or too greasy or tasteless.

One main course - salmon with pistachio crust - was extremely dry and very greasy. The second main course - pasta with swordfish - was ok, but again the fish was very dry.

Also, we waited over an hour for our food.

May be locals are better served here, but we absolutely cannot recommend this restaurant.

Avevamo ordinato la selezione di specialità siciliane come antipasto. In realtà, ci doveva essere la pizza siciliana (Sfincione) tra le altre cose - in realtà, non era il tipico sie. Pizza, ma una normale, solo la pizza più dura che abbiamo mai mangiato. Anche il resto del piatto degli antipasti era solo spazzatura: o troppo secco o troppo grasso o insapore.

Un piatto principale - salmone con crosta di pistacchi - era estremamente secco e molto grasso. Il secondo piatto principale: pasta con pesce spada - era ok, ma di nuovo il pesce era molto secco.

Abbiamo anche aspettato più di un'ora per il nostro cibo.

Può essere che la gente del posto sia servita meglio qui, ma non possiamo assolutamente raccomandare...

My girlfriend and I went here twice during our trip to Sicily, once on our first evening and on our last evening as well. We were greeted by a very warm host and professional, courteous servers. The food was delicious, we had the Risotto di Mare and the Pizza Capricciosa (twice), and I thought it was the best pizza of the entire trip.

The house wine is great, which gives you an inexpensive option to drink something that pairs well with the food.

The food itself is typically Sicilian, so I highly recommend this to travellers/tourists who wish to experience a Sicilian dish.

I cannot recommend the Osteria Trabucco enough, the people working are incredibly friendly, the food is great and the atmosphere was...
