CuFu — Restaurant in Palermo

First of all the cocktails were good but they came very slowly, each of us had to wait at 3 to 5 minute intervals for our cocktails. It wasn’t very busy, only about half of the available tables were occupied but everything came pretty slowly.

If the food would be good that wouldn’t be a problem but damn, everyone with tastebuds be warned. The pasta was partly cold and partly hot and tasted straight from the microwave, the bruschetta was ok, the fruit was… fruit? Tasted as mcdonalds fruit. The bacon was hard (burned a bit). The sausage in pumpkin sauce wasn’t hot neither. The filled ball was tasty but not worth 16€ and lastly the dessert had no taste at all, the only taste you got were the sprinkles on top.

Lastly The crew was friendly but the average feeling on the plastic chairs and with the cardboard plates was not very welcoming.

Overall overpriced for what you get, if it would be home made-, good-, fresh-, food; they would really be onto an amazing concept.

CuFu is located on a quiet side street not far from piazza Marina and Via Emanuele. We were looking for a place for pre-dinner drinks. We felt immediately welcomed by the waiter as soon as we sat down in the outdoor patio. The drink menu had a nice selection of cocktails with some twists. They had a german beer on tap and Epic, a Sicilian craft brew. As we enjoyed our drinks we started to see some seriously good looking food coming out of the kitchen and the next thing we knew we had changed drinks into dinner and drinks. It's not a full-on restaurant, but the food was excellent and nicely presented. The arancine were delicious and the charcuterie board I had was really well done with a wide variety of bites, all very tasty, especially the pasta with ham. They also made us a nice salad, off the menu. To top it all off we had a gummy bear surprise to end evening. ...

Ormai CuFu è diventato una seconda casa, il posto ideale e ormai prediletto per l’aperitivo perfetto! Ho fatto volontariamente la rima, perchè qui tutto è fatto con amore, passione e tanta allegria. I cocktail sono tutti creati appositamente dal bravissimo bartender Ale, che vi stupirà con le sue creazioni variopinte che hanno del magico e che sono presentate come un’opera d’arte. Perché diciamocelo, quando si fanno le cose con passione, i risultati si vedono ma soprattutto si sentono. I cocktail più buoni della città, freschi, gustosi, con frutta fresca. Un’esplosione di sapori e profumi! Non c’è che l’imbarazzo della scelta e ogni cocktail vi stupirà; io credo di averli provati tutti o quasi tutti, ma al limite non c’è mai fine! Ale è geniale nel capire i gusti dei clienti, intelligente da sapere che bisogna bere con coscienza, creativo nel personalizzare i drink in sapore ed esposizione, ingegnoso e mai ripetitivo. Salvo, invece, è un vulcano di energia e simpatia, lo vedrete sempre in movimento, senza mai fermarsi a consigliarvi e proporvi la soluzione ideale per quelli indecisi tra le tante possibilità di scelta. Insomma, chiedete e vi sarà dato! I taglieri sono abbondanti e tutti home made, fatto in casa, a km0, e soprattutto al momento. Tutto buonissimo, sia l’aperitivo normale che il richiestissimo Food P0rn, una prelibatezza di pietanze davvero allettanti e soprattutto “p0rn”, come la pasta pistacchiosa, le arancine al pistacchio - rigorosamente senza glutammato monosodico - perchè stiamo parlando sempre di prodotti genuini e autentici. E ancora la frutta fresca di stagione... e infine il dolce, offerto da loro, che varia da un pasticcino alla ricotta ai cannoli bigusto ricotta e cioccolato: una bontà! Attesissimi per me sono i succosi orsacchiolici, orsetti gommosi alla vodka: irresistibili! Grande attenzione per le intolleranze alimentari, quindi potete stare al sicuro. Lo staff è premuroso, cordiale, attento, disponibile e sempre col sorriso sulle labbra, quei sorrisi che partono dagli occhi, che di questi tempi difficili di pandemia, abbiamo dimenticato quanto sia potente la magia di un sorriso all’improvviso! Il locale è completamente sanificato e sono attuate le disposizioni vigenti anti COVID. Il desiderio di tornare alla normalità la sto scoprendo al CuFu, con la voglia di passare serate piacevoli, in amicizia e allegria. Quindi un grazie di cuore a voi tutti che rendete le nostre serate...
