It was just before closing so they were out of focaccia but the signorina made me a baguette to order. After hiking straight up from Manarola I must say it was one of the best sandwiches I have ever had. And after the grumpy service at the Coop in Manarola, it was a delight to meet such a kind lady. BTW I was eating it along the trail just a little way down the hill next to an olive grove and the owner struck up a conversation about the cingale that had torn up the ground around one of her trees. Such nice people in Volastra!

What a great find on our hike, to stock up for a picnic. Spinach and ricotta pie, and a sandwich made up from meats, mozzarella and pesto from the deli..... delicious, finished off with a punnet of strawberries The lady serving us was friendly and...

Lovely little shop, the girl today (30/4) was brilliant to us tourists, made us a superb picnic. Her sandwich recommendation of pesto, mozzarella, sundried tomato and ham was lovely. Other shop keepers...
