Very disappointing experience. Came for my birthday on a Saturday night. There were only 2 staff running the floor which was totally inappropriate. Every step from being sat down to ordering to asking for anything took way too long. I felt bad asking as the staff wasn't slacking and were obviously quite stressed. If staff shortage was out of their control, then I feel bad for them, if on the other end it is the way this restaurant is run, then it would be time to think of hiring more waiters. My partner's fish and vegetables was nicely cooked and tasty. My pasta with scampi meat and burrata was a rip off. The scampi meat was the size of a tea spoon and the burrata was instead ricotta. The menu itself has only 4 main dishes, how could the ingredients not be available? The white wine bottle came lukewarm, I finally managed to get a cooler brought to the table, which still wouldn't do the trick, then after had to ask for ice cubes to put in our glasses. Promn wrapped with fried rice noodle, tuna with onion and sea salt and octopus on chickpee (processed with octopus broth). Seafood flavours were all elaborated and elevated to next level.
Pasta was boiled in shelfish broth. This method is commonly used in my country (Taiwan), however, is my first experience abroad. Very happy exploration.
Fish today was Ombrine filet. Fish skin was resrved, which is very cleaver, because of fish oil prevent the fish filet to become dry during cooking, and also explode the aroma from Ombrine filet.
Overall experience was great and definately will revisit this restaurant if we come...
Read moreHonestly surprised at the negative reviews, as we only have good things to say! We hiked up from Manarola - it was a bit of a difficult hike, about 50 minutes, but it was worth it! The views were great along the way and we really enjoyed a beautiful dinner here on their outside patio. The mussels alla marinara were super tasty and an absolute steal at €8! We also enjoyed delicious fresh anchovy pasta and minestrone con pasta. A bottle of locally made house white wine was delicious and €15, and we ended our night with the 3 dessert tasting for €10. Would go back for sure and highly recommend if you’re looking for something a little off the beaten track in the...
