Gelateria Azzaro — Local services in Rome

Having been to Rome many times, I was looking for ice cream which would live up to what I remembered from past trips - ie. some of the best ice cream in the world. All I can say, having tried the ice cream at Gelateria Azzaro, is that I cannot imagine ice cream any better than this anywhere in the world! It is simply the best I have ever tried. I was only planning to have one ice cream, and ended up trying multiple flavours. It is hard to describe just how good this is! The strawberry is like being in strawberry heaven, the dark chocolate is like eating the best chocolate made by the best chocolatier - which is frozen and melts, the lime is pure refreshment and the cherry is... well, you would just have to try to believe. The best Gelato in Rome! I've had Gelato from at least 2 dozen other locations throughout our trip in Rome and this Gelateria is by far the best. The flavors are rich and the consistency is creamy. No icicles or artificial flavors in their fruit flavors. My favorite were the mango and the lemon flavors. Both had extremely rich fruit flavor and silky smooth consistency. The nocciola and pistachio flavors were also extremely flavorful and smooth. Both favorites of my daughters. My wife enjoyed their yogurt flavor, which has a little tartness to it that is amazing.
