Certainly, you need to book ahead. There's not many tables, and they do specific time slots 7pm and 9pm. They do a number of different boards. we opted for the Rosario board, which is EUR35. This was a mix of Sicilian warm starters along with cheese, meats, bread, and fig jam. The warm meat balls were very good. Whilst I enjoyed the aubergines and courgette, my husband wasn't so keen but only because he doesn't like those veg. He personally would've preferred the board without them. We were given 3 meats and 5 different cheeses. The cheeses and meats were very good. The ham with truffle was very delicious. Smoked cheese, mozzarella, cheese with walnuts, pecorino, and to have as a dessert at the end ricotta with honey and pistachio. They provide orange infused olive oil, which was lovely to dip the bread in. The service was very good. They explained everything on the plate and checked that we were OK throughout. Wines for all tastes and prices. We had the Grillo at EUR25. Excellent quality of products and...
Read moreIf you’re visiting Taormina, make sure La Bottega del Formaggio is on your list! From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed with warm Sicilian hospitality. The highlight of our visit was the Tagliere del Bottega for 4 people – an absolute feast & just what we were looking for! It was beautifully presented and packed with a delicious variety of local cheeses, cured meats, olives, and other regional delights. Every bite was a celebration of Sicilian flavor.
A special mention goes to Katia, who made our experience even more memorable. She spoke excellent English, was incredibly friendly, and guided us through the menu with genuine care and passion. Her recommendations were spot on, and her knowledge of the products truly enhanced our visit.
La Bottega del Formaggio is more than just a shop – it’s a warm, authentic taste of Sicily. Highly...
Read moreA phenomenal little hidden gem in the heart of Taormina. We booked the roof terrace on a Saturday evening, it was wonderful. It's family run and you can tell they really care about their produce & customers! It was cosy with lovely table lamps to add to the magical experience. We ordered a fabulous charcuterie board and sampled the local wine. A really unique experience, and we particularly enjoyed the orange infused olive oil. Thankfully, I was able to purchase two bottles on the way out. Also to note the food portions are generous and very reasonable in comparison to restaurants in the area. We are returning to Sicily next year with our children, and this will be the first place we book! We can't wait...
