Roman Odeon — Attraction in Taormina

Nice small archeological monument of a rare type, interesting and worth a quick visit. However, it's pretty built in by the surrounding houses, which makes its original state hard to imagine. There's just one table with a few explanations at the entrance (Italian and half length in English only), which isn't very detailed. This could be improved, as could the signposting, as I didn's see a single sign pointing towards this somewhat hidden site. Entrance is free by the way, the area is open from 09:00 to one hour...

The Odeon is a nice little archeological site near downtown Taormina. There are remnants of both a temple from 250 BC and an Odeon from 100 BC. The site was very accessible to the public and I was able to freely walk through the ruins. It doesn’t take too much time to explore. There’s a sign giving some information about the ruins. Wonderful to see that places like this are free for people to experience. However, there HAS to be a person there to keep tourists from littering and using the corners as toalets. The site of this importance needs to be maintained better.
