A Culinary Gem in Taormina – A Must-Visit!!
While on holiday in Sicily with my wife and friends, we stumbled upon this incredible restaurant in Taormina—and it ended up being one of the best dining experiences of our entire trip.
From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and authentic. The staff made us feel right at home, offering helpful suggestions and genuinely making sure we had everything we needed without ever feeling rushed.
We ordered the risotto, and let me just say—it's the best I’ve ever had. Perfectly cooked, flavorful, and beautifully presented. I was so impressed I personally thank the chef. You can tell this is a kitchen led by a top-tier talent. Every dish that came out was clearly made with passion, precision, and heart.
The owner was also present that evening, actively engaged and clearly invested in every part of the experience. You could feel how much the place meant to her, and it made the evening even more special.
This restaurant is a true gem in Taormina. If you're visiting Sicily, make sure to put this spot at the top of your list—it’s a must-see and a must-taste. Highly...
Read moreUnbelievably horrible experience. We have spent 10 days in Taormina and this was by far the worst dinner in a string of 9 great dinners. Took 1.5 hrs to get an appetizer much less our actual meal, only to have management tell us that we are being ridiculous as "it is busy". On top of that, they added items to our bill that we didn't even order. I wish I could say we were the only table that experienced problems, but we watched the couple beside us angerily complain they were waiting too long for their food only to leave the restaurant storming off. I guarantee you are much better off walking down the street and going into any other restaurant than going to this place as this was the case for us each other night for the past 9 nights. Do not get fooled by the nice fish display outside. Very overpriced and they prey...
Read moreWe happened across La Grotta Azzurra during an extended trip to Italy with a stop in Tormina to take in the Andrea Boccelli concert - both the concert and the restaurant were spectacular. There were four of us and from the time we walked in we were made to feel like one of the family by the staff and owner. The food was fantastic (a selection of seafood starters, the salt encrusted, fresh Red Snapper and local sides), a great wine selection, and when combined with the friendly service and the accompanying talent of a local musical ensemble featuring 2 outstanding Italian tenors, you have an evening that will not be forgotten. If you're in Sicily - head to Tormina and enjoy a culinary adventure compliments of La Grotta Azzurra - you will not be...
