Please stay away from this store: they just want your money! DISHONEST PEOPLE!!!!!
I came in at 8.30pm (closing time was 9.00pm) just to have 2 bottles of still water for my baby (about 1 year) to make her dinner... I looked everywhere: only bottles of sprinkle water. So i ask to the first employed, EXPLAINING that it was for my little daughter, for searching in the back of the store: "I'm sorry" she said "no more still water" was the answer. So i took 2 bottle of Ulivet (Vol. 2 lt) the lowest sprinkle water they had. I ask to the cashier how to find another store for finding still water and she asked to another employed, a young italian boy dissatisfied of his work and bored that it was late (but still in WORKING TIME!) to look for two still bottle. He said to her colleague "no more still water sorry".
BUT:
i go out the store and discover through a window of the back store that they were FULL of still water. But the last guy (who is a father of a young kid too as cashier told me try to justify him, don't ask me in which way she thougt) was too much in hurry to explain how many opening minutes still were to people who was entering the store than bring me two stupid bottle of water. I came in again for telling that they were dishonest and ther bring me in 15 SECONDS two bottle of still water Levissima (just 1.5 lt!!!! I paid for 2 lt the uliveto!).
COOP MOTTO is: "la coop sei tu!" that is in english "the coop is you!". This is false: i'm honest with people, if i can't bring you somenthing i just say it...
Read moreSo, this place is perfectly fine as a grocery store but it is definitely one of the busier grocery stores in the area, which is why I usually went to the Conad on Rio Marin or the one near Frari. It's location is in a busy chokepoint of people coming from San Marco and especially lost people getting stuck at at a dead end there so there's a lot of ruckus and the store itself is basically 3 aisles with a hidden frozen goods section. Be prepared to be in the checkout line in the 1 foot wide aisle. However I do like the Coop brand potato chips. The closest thing in America to them are Trader Joe's olive oil chips or whatever they are. Solid snack. And also everyone who is complaining about the bread system should realize that people in different countries do things differently. And in this case it's for a good reason because everyone in America gets sick because their unvaccinated kids are sticking their sicky boi hands into everyone else's food at the store, and old Italians love to feel up some melons before they decide on which one to pick so this is definitely a hygiene thing. And it takes 3 damn seconds to figure out what to do so if you're actually triggered about putting on a damn glove to get your bread, you should reconsider your...
Read moreWe stayed write around the corner from this CO-OP and we actually went to the other CO-OP jut because of the reviews. One day we decided to stop in since it was so close and I have to say ... The staff is very friendly. Have been in there about three times and the gentleman cashier says hello to me and Merry Christmas and asks about things. We even sang We Are the World together...LOL. He has a sense of humor and very helpful... As for people having a problem because they have to weigh or measure the breads or the fruits and vegetables...Just learn how it is done here...It is not a big issue. As for the self checkouts they are available in English and Italian and I have not had an issue. It does take cash. The store is small but it is close and in a central area..great for quick stuff...this is not a huge grocery store or a Walmart. Great to grab water for 25P for 1.5 liters when every restaurant was offering for 2.50... The walkways are tight but space is limited in Venice so just accept it and smile as you work around each other. Remember...
